Comparison of Energy Deposition in Small Cylindrical Volumes by Electrons Generated by Monte Carlo Track Structure Codes for Gaseous and Liquid Water

Abstract
Comparison of four independent Monte Carlo electron transport codes MOCA, OREC, CPA and KURBUC has been made in terms of radial distribution of interactions, point kernels and the absolute frequency of energy despositions events f(>E) in small cylindrical volumes of sizes similar to segments of DNA and chromatin fibre. The results show differences in clustering properties of the ionising radiation in the DNA size targets.
