Abstract
1. 1. An accurate measure of digestion is provided by the amount of calories digested since this involves direct estimation of the stomach contents. 2. 2. The time taken for 100 per cent digestion is inversely related to temperature. The peaks of digestion, however, occur 8 hr after feeding irrespective of temperature. 3. 3. While size has its effect on the duration of digestion, it is not discernible in the rate of digestion in percentage body weight per day. 4. 4. When the rate of digestion is related to the volume of the stomach, the temperature effect is marked, but size effect is not so evident. Keywords
