A potential method for the differentiation between haddock fish stocks by computer vision using canonical discriminant analysis

Abstract

A method is described for differentiating between haddock stocks from the North Sea and Rockall Plateau using computer vision. Significant differences in both colour and shape between the two stocks were found. The potential of the method to identify misreporting of fish catches and to evaluate their biological condition is discussed.
