Abstract
The elementary theory of the vibroscope, a device for determining mass per unit length of a fiber, is reviewed and the corrections from the simple law due to elasticity are discussed. Various forms of apparatus are described. Comparisons of vibroscope results with results of other methods are given. Agreement is found within the limits of precision of the methods. Keywords
