Optimization of routing algorithms in ad-hoc networks using swarm intelligence

Abstract
The mobile ad-hoc networks are constructed without any fixed infrastructure such as base station, tower, redirection switches and routers. Mobile ad-hoc networks are the temporary wireless networks. All the routing information are managed by the node itself. Because of the continuously changing environment of wireless ad-hoc networks and their dynamic topologies, static routing algorithms and other simple dynamic routing algorithms cannot be used to route traffic in these. Our aim is to study the various routing algorithms in mobile ad-hoc network that use swarm intelligence as their underlying concept and devising a new algorithm that clubs together the positive aspects of all the algorithms or improving any one of the existing algorithms in order to improve its efficiency.
