Abstract
Dans cet article, je propose dix thèses qui, si elles étaient toutes retenues, donneraient une image de l'histoire des techniques très différente de celle que l'on trouve dans la plupart des travaux actuels, qu'ils soient de vulgarisation ou universitaires. Le développement de chaque thèse se suffit à lui-même, mais les thèses sont interdépendantes et forment une argumentation d'ensemble. Son noyau tient au fait qu'une très grande part de l'historiographie (du moins de l'historiographie anglo-saxonne) traite en fait de l'innovation, et non des techniques en général — ce qui conduit à des résultats très regrettables. Les thèses soutenues ici sont incomplètes en deux sens.Keywords
