Abstract
Kapur and Peierls gave a derivation of the nuclear dispersion formula which differed from other treatments in defining the compound states by means of wave functions in coordinate space. We have carried through the derivation starting out in a similar way, but avoiding certain disadvantages of their treatment, which mainly consist in too restricting assumptions. Keywords
