Abstract
Salicylamide amino acid conjugates were prepared utilizing 5‐formyl‐, 5‐dicyanoethenyl‐, and 5‐nitroethenylsalicylic acid. 5‐Substituted salicylanilides were treated with glycine and formaldehyde in a Mannich type reaction affording the corresponding 3‐(N‐glycino)salicylanilides. The reactions of anilines with pyrans containing the salicylyl moiety yielded the corresponding salicylanilides. The obtained compounds were tested for molluscicidal activity. Keywords
