HE UK (or more accurately Eng- I land) came in for a bashing at the recent International Council of Nurses (ICN) S Congress. The contentious issue was its active recruitment in international nurs-ing labour markets, but does England deserve to be singled out in this way? The practice of recruiting abroad continues to generate controversy because of the potential to cause a nursing 'brain drain'.
