Pigment in the lining of nasopalatine duct cysts: report of two cases

Abstract
In 20 nasopalatine duct cysts, 2 cases were encountered with a pigmented epithelial lining. Only 1 similar case was found in the literature. The pigment was melanin. The melanin-containing epithelial cells may be derived from Jacobson''s organs and most likely should be considered olfactory epithelium.
