Hypoplasia of the Abdominal Aorta Associated With the Rubella Syndrome

Abstract
Hypoplasia of the abdominal aorta was found to be associated with congenital rubella in three infants. This was verified by comparison of abdominal aortograms of these infants with 22 controls. It is postulated that this vascular abnormality, not previously described in association with the rubella syndrome, may be secondary to the poorly developing tissues consequent to the rubella virus.
