A Food-Borne Institutional Outbreak of Enteritis Due to Salmonella blockley

Abstract

One hundred and sixty-seven cases of infection due to Salmonella blockley were documented in an institutional outbreak. The source of infection was frozen, unpasteurized egg yolks used in the preparation of ice cream. This is further evidence for the need to exclude frozen, unpasteurized egg products from human consumption.
