Abstract
The following additional information concerning the polishing mechanism has been obtained with multiple-beam fringes of equal chromatic order: (1) a more efficient and reliable technique for measuring the average cutting rate during one minute of polishing; (2) the history of a single particle planing glass; and (3) quantitative data obtained when polishing glass with a polyethylene lap, barnesite, and water. Keywords
