Abstract
Presentation of CaseA 23-year-old woman was admitted to the hospital because of multiple traumatic injuries.She was well until the evening before admission, when she was involved in a motor-vehicle accident. She was taken to another hospital, where the blood pressure was 70/40 mm Hg. Examination disclosed that she was responsive and able to move all extremities. The left pupil was initially unresponsive to light, later reactive and then again unresponsive. The trachea was intubated, and penicillin, dexamethasone and a transfusion of whole blood were administered. She was transferred to this hospital eight hours after the accident.The temperature . . .
