Abstract
This article reports a comparison of managerial communication patterns in small and large organizations. Semistructured interviews were conducted of 23 mid-level managers from 20 large, mature organizations and 19 managers from 19 small, entrepreneurial organizations. The results indicate that communication patterns do vary significantly, both in amount and in type of medium. Consequently, both managerial communication theory and application must integrate organizational differences. Keywords
