Abstract
A synthetic medium (E agar) containing glucose and citric acid as the only organic nutrients was found superior to blood agar, Minca-IsoVitaleX (BBL Microbiology Systems, Cockeysville, Md.) agar and broth, and tryptic soy broth (without glucose) for promoting expression of K99 antigen by Escherichia coli strains isolated from diarrheic calves and piglets. Keywords
