Abstract
This exploratory study applied a widely used psychological test to measure job burnout among a sample of reporters and copy editors at five daily newspapers of dissimilar size. Results indicate that the employee most likely to suffer from burnout is a young, entry-level journalist working as a copy editor at a small dairy newspaper. However, other variables were also found to significantly relate to job burnout. These include age, job title, total years of experience, income and job satisfaction. Keywords
