Abstract
A 26-year-old woman was referred to the rheumatology clinic because of painful neck swelling associated with thirst and weight loss. Physical examination revealed submandibular-gland enlargement on both sides of the neck. Testing for antinuclear antibodies was positive, and the levels of serum complement were low; assays for antibodies to the Ro and La antigens were negative. A diagnostic procedure was performed. Keywords
