A Neuropsychological Study of Sexual Deviation

Abstract

The sexual deviations are puzzling clinical phenomena which can prove extremely difficult to treat. Various theories have been proposed to account for the development of these conditions. Recently Flor-Henry (1987) reported that sexual deviants demonstrate fronto-temporal left hemispheric deficits as reflected on performance on certain neuropsychological tests. In an attempt to replicate this observation, a group of sexual deviants were compared with a psychologically distressed control group (anxious patients) and a non-psychologically distressed control group (normal subjects).
