Abstract
Industrial relations are fraught with latent tensions as the major parties jostle to assert their roles in the organization of production. Consequently, information in this field is jealously guarded by hegemonic powers who seek to maintain their advantaged position within the power structure of society. This is particularly the case under authoritarian regimes, where access to information about subordinate classes is regularly suppressed as part of the attempt to deny the possibilities and potential of their existence. Keywords
