Summer 2018: African swine fever virus hits north‐western Europe

Abstract

In a new example of pathogens hopscotching the globe, a livestock virus originating in Africa hit northwestern Europe's wildlife this summer, marking a further spread of a disease that had recently hit pig farms in eastern Europe and China.
