Abstract
An antibacterial depsipeptide, nagahamide A (1), has been isolated from the marine sponge Theonella swinhoei. Its structure was determined on the basis of spectral and chemical methods. Absolute configuration of amino acid residues was determined by Marfey's analysis, and relative stereochemistry of the polyketide moiety was assigned by comparison of NMR data with those of a model compound. Keywords
