Abstract
A critical analysis is presented of the various techniques currently in use for the appraisement of growth and development. A simplified form for combined distance, velocity, and standard-score difference standards is presented as providing a test for "abnormality" which might well be more adequate than any now in use. Certain useful standards for maturity appraisement are discussed, including skeletal maturation as detd. by carpal X-ray, skeletal maturation by the "red graph method," and tooth eruption development.
