Identification, Assessment and Treatment of Women Suffering from Post Traumatic Stress After Abortion

Abstract

In this article the author describes a phenomenon that has received little attention in the clinical literature: post traumatic stress suffered by women who have had abortions. The article briefly reviews the author's clinical research, outlines the various types of post traumatic stress manifestations as they appear in the women treated for this condition and describes the systematic assessment. Therapy and outcome evaluation of this condition via a detailed case study of a married couple where both spouses suffered from impacted grief reactions.
