Abstract
Solutes such as Mn in Fe showing abnormal hyperfine field variations with temperature have been previously interpreted on a 'localized moment' molecular field model. The author shows that this behaviour is due rather to the existence of a narrow bound state at the Fermi level, and other systems are listed that will also show abnormal behaviour. Keywords
