Abstract
Acetonitrile can be synthesized from ethane by heterogeneous catalytic ammoxidation using Nb–Sb mixed oxides supported on alumina; a new type of (amm)oxidation active site on the catalyst, which can lead to a selective insertion of O–N atoms on the double bond of the intermediate ethylene is suggested.Keywords
