Scilit Subject Scheme

Scilit tries to automatically classify each publication into up to three distinct subjects based on a trained machine learning model. If a subject is predicted with a high confidence score, the publication will be assigned to a single subject.

If all predicted subjects have a very low confidence score, the publication may not be assigned to any subject. The subject classification model has been trained with English publications only and may result in weak predictions for publications in other languages (if a prediction can be made at all).

SDG

SDG indicators measure progress towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These indicators provide quantitative data that help track and assess the implementation of the SDGs at national, regional, and global levels.

They allow policymakers, organizations, and stakeholders to monitor trends, identify gaps, and make informed decisions to accelerate sustainable development.

The SDG indicators cover many areas, including poverty, education, health, gender equality, climate action, and more, providing a comprehensive framework for measuring progress towards a more sustainable future.

Scilit automatically classifies each publication in SDG goals based on a trained machine learning model. If an SDG goal is predicted with a high confidence score, the publication will be assigned to that SDG goal.

If all predicted SDG goals have a very low confidence score, the publication may not be assigned to any SDG goal.

The SDG goal classification model has been trained with English publications only and may result in weak predictions for publications in other languages (if a prediction can be made).

MeSH Heading & Chemical Substances

The Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) thesaurus is a controlled and hierarchically organized vocabulary produced by the National Library of Medicine, updated annually.

The Chemical Thesaurus is a controlled vocabulary of chemical and drug terms used to index documents. Another name for the Chemical Thesaurus is Supplementary Concept Records.

Scilit uses MeSH and Chemical Substances, which enable health professionals, medical librarians, and chemical researchers to search for literature more effectively.
