The article provides an analytical overview of the terminology used in international and domestic practices of the tugbarge transport. The ambiguity and inconsistency of the application of certain terms are established, and the absence in the domestic literature of synonyms and a clear understan-ding of some foreign concepts are determined. In addition, there is a abcence of scientific research in the field of the topic under consideration. In this regard, the purpose of the article is to clarify and generalize the conceptual apparatus used in the operation of the tugbarge fleet.

The article touches upon the possibility of using the method of gradientless n-parametric minimization of Powell'64 in tasks of monitoring the working process of marine diesel engines. There is given an example of finding a global minimum of the Rosenbrock test function. Using the Powell'64 method, the Least-squares functionals in the synchronization and modelling tasks of compression-expansion curves in the working cylinder are minimized. The calculation results of data synchronization for low-speed two-stroke and medium-speed four-stroke marine diesel engines are shown. The synchronization problem can be solved in terms of equation P' = 0 derived for the sector from compression starting to combustion starting in the cylinder. The selection of the boundary conditions for simulation is shown. The advantage of Powell’64 method is its high efficiency for quadratic functionals. As opposed to gradient methods, the Powell'64 method does not require calculating derivatives and is universal for minimizing complex nonlinear general functionals. The original author's algorithm of data synchronization by analyzing the indicator diagrams using the Powell'64 method has been applied in the latest versions of monitoring systems of D4.0H marine diesel engine.

The article gives a brief overview of the problem of creating and operating software simulators for training and advanced training. Software simulators of technical devices are considered. Each simulator, according to the authors, should be oriented towards training users on a particular issue. This will allow the user from the list of simulators to choose the most suitable. The level of knowledge of the user should be taken into account. The author's recommendations for creating offline simulators that do not require the use of the Internet are described.

The possibility of using a balanced scorecard (BSS) system for assessing the activity of a project-oriented shipping company was explored. The structure of the BSS, which consists of three subsystems, is proposed: the main type of activity, the project activity, the related activity. Each subsystem is formed by a set of indicators, which describe the data of the subsystem. «Main type of activity» and «Project type of activity» are considered in the following directions: the personnel section, the organizational section, the production section, the marketing section and the financial section. «Project activity» consists of the essence of the project, resources, risks, the efficiency, the quality. It was offered to consider the project-oriented shipping company as a system in the dynamics of its development. Proceeding from this, a model of cause-effect relationships between the subsystems of the balanced scorecard system was developed, considering the development objectives of the shipping company at each stage of its life cycle. Five stages are distinguished: birth, becoming, maturity, aging, rebirth or extinction.

Definite and analyzed factors having influence on the process of overload of loads in port and on treatment of ships and carriages. Their priority is definite. The process of functioning of technological shifting complexes (terminals) of port is described and the method of determination of their optimum parameters is offered by an imitation dynamic design. Classification of terminals and models is offered. The basic modify parameters of models and boundary of their changes are definite. The cases of outages of transport vehicles are described. Flow-charts and algorithm of construction of simulation models are developed. It is suggested to use principle of the «special events» and their list is definite. The basic requirements are definite by the construction of models and determination of their adequacy. The possible complex of optimization parameters of simulation model is offered.

The increase of cargo traffic in Ukrainian ports is constrained due to the lack of deep-sea berths of high bearing capacity. Despite the construction of new facilities, it is necessary to make the most of the existing berthing front. The technical condition of the berthing front, according to the results of the surveys, is in an unsatisfactory state. Many quays need substantial reconstruction in order to increase depths and increase operational loads. In the present work the analysis of modern methods of reconstruction of mooring structures of various designs is carried out. The possibility of their application in various conditions is estimated. A new scheme for reconstruction of berthing facilities is proposed. A comparative analysis of the existing reconstruction methods with the proposed one is made.

In article the problem definition of optimization of cargo transfer process in transport hub, based on logistic conception «just in time» is offered for the first time, the constructive approach to modeling of a task is defined and are provided its original economic-mathematical models with the indication of methods of realization. The necessity is also proved for setting the task of cargo transfer process optimization at the stage of operational management of information quality factor of t regarding cargo flows and rolling stock entering the transport nodes. It is shown that this factor gives an idea of the degree of stability of the control parameters and allows us to consider the problem under the conditions of risk and in a determinate formulation.
