Humans need other people. One of human nature is as a social creature or community creature. Establishing friendships and caring for them to remain lasting is a challenge. The occurrence of individual and social clashes in Indonesia is always related to differences in community backgrounds such as ethnicity, religion, culture, and other social conditions. Based on the analysis of the parable of the generous Samaritan in Luke 10: 25-37, Christians are called to be friends with the other, namely how to treat everyone as a friend and fellow creature of God without distinguishing people. Thus, social security and comfort will be created in interacting with others in differences. The purpose of this paper is to first provide an understanding (concept) "who is fellow human" so that it contributes to building constructive friendship relationships and freeing everyone, acting without discrimination in interacting with others in differences. Second, to provide awareness to the community will be important tolerant, respecting differences in ethnicity, religion, ethnic race and culture of the Indonesian people Third, to understand the meaning and purpose of friendship so that it can build a sincere friendship with the other Fourth, it can also be used as input for every party who feels called to overcome the conflict in the body of the Indonesian people. Abstrak Manusia membutuhkan orang lain. Salah satu hakikat manusia adalah sebagai makhluk sosial atau makhluk masyarakat. Menjalin persahabatan dan memeliharanya agar tetap langgeng merupakan tantangan. Terjadinya perbenturan-perbenturan individual dan sosial di Indonesia masih selalu terkait dengan perbedaan latar belakang masyarakat seperti etnis, agama, budaya dan keadaan sosial lainnya. Berdasarkan analisis perumpamaan tentang orang Samaria yang murah hati dalam Lukas 10:25-37 ini orang Kristen dipanggil untuk mau bersahabat dengan sang liyan yaitu bagaimana memperlakukan setiap orang sebagai sahabat dan sesama ciptaan Tuhan tanpa membeda-bedakan orang. Dengan demikian, akan tercipta keamanan dan kenyamanan sosial dalam berinteraksi dengan orang lain dalam perbedaan. Tujuan tulisan ini adalah memberikan pemahaman (konsep) “siapakah sesama manusia" sehingga menjadi kontribusi untuk membangun hubungan persahabatan yang konstruktif dan membebaskan semua orang, bertindak tanpa diskriminasi dalam berinteraksi dengan orang lain dalam perbedaan.
