Abstract
The bacterial genus Pseudoalteromonas is a model organism isolated from cold environments and deep-sea sediments. This article by Parrilli et al. is a good guide to current knowledge of this group, in particular highlighting Pseudoalteromonas haloplanktis TAC125, which is found in Antarctic seawater and used to explore bacterial adaptation to cold temperatures. This Recommendation is of an article referenced in an F1000 Faculty Review also written by James Coker.
