La mobilisation des organisations féminines en faveur du Code de la famille au Mali

Abstract
Following the mobilization of Malian women's organizations and the pressure of the international community, Mali adopted in 2009 a Family Code enhancing gender equality. Immediately after its adoption, the code created such a public controversy that it was finally replaced in 2011 by a new version openly discriminatory against women. This article explores this turnaround and, particulary, the failure of women's organizations in their mobilization strategies to defend the code against its detractors.
