Abstract
Prescribing clinicians and eye care specialists share responsibility for safely prescribing hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) and screening for the potential risk of retinopathy. Two relevant national societies, the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) and the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), have independently offered management guidelines (1, 2), but this is the first joint statement to emphasize points of agreement that should be recognized by practitioners in all specialties. Keywords
