Belebung von mittelstädtischen Zentrumslagen durch Mikro-Hochschulen

Abstract

The desertification of medium-sized central-urban locations is frequently being lamented. We demonstrate, that several consequences of this desertification can be counteracted by the establishment of higher education institutions. Obviously, the institutions in question are small, regionally active and locally established institutions of education. On what terms these could be successful and which academic challenges have to be addressed will be demonstrated in this paper.
