Abstract
This study investigated the potential of a serial mediation model to examine the roles of self-esteem and perceived social support in the relationship between trait interpersonal sensitivity and loneliness. We used a two-wave survey to collect data from 761 Chinese students. The structural equation model analysis results show that the Chinese version of the Interpersonal Sensitivity Measure had good psychometric properties, and that trait interpersonal sensitivity indirectly predicted loneliness through the mediators of self-esteem and perceived social support. Our findings provide valuable guidance for ways to reduce the loneliness of individuals with interpersonal sensitivity. Keywords
