DETERMINING THE VIEWS OF CHILD DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM STUDENTS ON THE COVID-19 EPIDEMIC AND VACCINE STUDIES

Abstract
The main purpose of this research is to determine the views of students studying child development about the Covid-19 epidemic and its vaccine. In the study, phenomenology design, one of the qualitative research methods, was used. The participants, determined by the homogeneous sampling method, consist of 102 students studying in the associate degree program of a university in the Malazgirt district of Muş province. A fully structured interview form was used to collect the data, and these data were analyzed by content analysis by making trilogy (theme-category-code). According to the findings obtained; It has been determined that there is no consensus on the covid-19 epidemic among students studying child development, and there are differences in opinions. Participants stated that it is an epidemic that creates negative feelings about covid-19, is revealed intentionally, is hoped to end one day like other epidemics, and affects the whole world. In addition, although there are undecided and negative opinions about the development or use of the covid-19 vaccine, it has been determined that the majority of the participants stated that the vaccine should be given. Psychological counseling and social adaptation assistance should be provided to individuals who have emotional and psychological problems due to the epidemic.
