Tempora mutantur – und auch das Studienrecht muss sich ändern

Abstract
In an international comparison, studies at universities in Austria take long and, in many cases, do not lead to a positive completion. “Studying the Austrian way” stands for a systematic gap of activity during studies, which, inter alia, results in fulltime studies having become a program for minorities. The efficiency of the course of teaching and studying is expandable, and the juridical frame is in need of a reform. For a path of reform of that nature, developments on many levels are a necessity, in any case a revision of the regulatory frame. The analysis of weaknesses of the current system and especially inernational comparisons show possible approaches for reforms.
