Abstract
Quiz Ref ID Patients with more advanced chronic kidney disease (CKD) are at a higher risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD), particularly patients requiring hemodialysis.1,2 The additional risk is explained by impairment in traditional and nontraditional risk factors1 associated with CKD. Mineral and bone disorder (MBD) in CKD3 is 1 of the nontraditional risk factors.4 Observational studies5,6 showed that serum phosphate, calcium, and intact parathyroid hormone (PTH) levels were associated with increased mortality risk in patients undergoing hemodialysis. This publication has 30 references indexed in Scilit:
