Abstract:
This research was aimed at finding and describing the functions of figurative languages, sound styles, and rhymes and in the song lyrics of Sheila on 7 from the album Pejantan Tangguh. This is descriptive-qualitative research whose data are words, phrases, and sentences of the song lyrics in in the album. For collecting the data, Â the researcher applied listening-and-note-taking method whereas for analyzing the data, referential comparative method was employed by determining element selection technique. The results showed that frequent sound styles appears in the lyrics are asonancy and alliteration. This asonancy was used to produce combinations of rhythms that resulted in beautiful effects in the song. Meanwhile, the most dominant figurative language found in the lyrics was metaphor which is followed by personificationm, and hyperbole. All the positions of rhymes, from beginning, middle, to end can also be found in the lyrics.

Abstract:
This study examined the images of Arabian and European women in the novel Illa Fatimahwritten by Anis Mansour. To describe the women's images, this study applied  structural analysis method and ideologist feminism literature criticism approaches. It as intended to  reveal the female characters and stereotypes in the novel The method of this research was descriptive-qualitative since the data of this study were textual in the forms of words, phrases, clauses, sentences showing the intrinsic and extrinsic elements of the novel. The result of this study showsthat there are some differences between Arabian and European woman images both in physical and psychological aspects as well as in their families and communities.

Abstract:
This study aimed at describing the role of the folklore entitled Asal-usul Nama Dukuh Pantaran for building moral literacy. This is a qualitative-descriptive study with data in the form of words, phrases, clauses, and sentences containing moral literacy values found in the folklore. For collecting the data, observation, interviews, and documentation techniques were employed. For data validation, source triangulation was applied whereas for data analysis, it used interactive model. The result of this research shows that the folklore Asal-usul Nama Dukuh Pantaran contains the components that make up moral literacy competence, namely ethical sensitivity, ethical reasoning, and moral imagination. Ethical sensitivity can be seen in the practices of religious and social attitudes. Meanwhile, ethical reasoning on religious and social attitudes can be identified regarding the usefulness and nature of caring. On the other hand, moral imagination is shown by the nature of relief in accepting decisions. With these three components, the folklore Asal-usul Nama Dukuh Pantaran has the potential as the source for building moral literacy.

Abstract:
This research focused on the varieties of the use of improper nicknames as manifestations of impoliteness in using languages. The identification was based on the linguistic markers traced from the origins of the words used as the nicknames for the speech partners. Apart fro that, the identification was also emphasized on the purpose of using nicknames in speech acts. By applying qualitative-descriptive approach, the data of ths research are five oral conversations between the host and the guest taken from the podcast hosted by Deddy Corbuzier and broadcasted on YouTube. For collecting the data, the researcher combined two techniques based on linguistic and pragmatic perspective. Menawhile, for analyzing the data, pragmatic contextual analysis was applied. The findings showed that the use of improper nicknames can be distinguished into two, namely linguistic markers and the purpose of use. Some variants found are improper names by analogy, animal names, and disgusting objects, and negative facts.

Abstract:
This study aimed to determine the effect of cooperative script learning model assisted by serial hand puppet media on the speaking skills of fourth grade students in Kedungumpul Village. The research was experimental research with the type of pre-experimental design. The samples taken for this study were 16 fourth grade students, whereas the sampling technique used is purposive sampling. The data were collected by using performance method which were then analyzed by using non-parametric statistical methods, namely the Wilcoxon test with the help of the SPSS version 25 program.The results showed that the cooperative script model assisted by serial hand puppet media had an effect on the speaking skills of fourth grade students in Kedungumpul Village. This is evidenced by the Wilcoxon test results obtained which is Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) worth 0.000. The results of the pretest and posttest scores increased in average values, from 47.00 in the pretest value to 61.31 in the posttest value. The value 0.000 is less than 0.05. This means that the cooperative script learning model assisted by serial hand puppet media has an effect on students' speaking skills.

Abstract:
The majority of Indonesians who are known to use social media as a means of communication and entertainment are certainly no strangers to the term ‘meme’. A popular meme phenomenon is the use of the word tenggelamkan (sink) at the end of the discourse popularized by Susi Pujiastuti, the former Minister of Fisheries and Marine Affairs. The purposes of this study was to find out the styles of language used in memes using the word tenggelamkan and their implications. The data of this study were taken from various pictures on the Internet with 15 memes in total. The method applied was descriptive-qualitative by using Grice’s theory of conversation maxims. The results of this study show that the themes used in memes with the word tenggelamkan include love, friendship, corruption, worship, and food. The use of language styles reflected from the memes are cynicism, paradoxes, and rhetoric. Meanwhile, the impicatures of meme the memes comprise satire, suggestion, and a combination of both.

Abstract:
The method is a step or a way to make teachers assisted in conveying subject matter and to be able to achieve learning goals easily. However, if the method chosen is not in accordance with the subject matter, it will make it more difficult for students and teachers themselves. In this study aims to investigate / describe a story method that uses the formula 5w + 1h with the help of an image. In this study, the method implemented in this study is a descriptive-qualitative research method by collecting observation data and learning practices. The findings in this study show that there are advantages and disadvantages in using the story method. Here are the advantages of this story method, one of which is to be able to practice listening and speaking skills of learners. The listeners will get a positive impact, as well as getting a new vocabulary from the storyteller in front and the speaker can have the courage to speak in Arabic freely. While the lack of this method of this story, one of which is that it takes a long time to compile a story that is about to be presented.

Abstract:
Semiotic or semiology means the systematic study of signs. What becomes difficult is defining what a 'sign' actually is. Modern day Semioticians, not only study 'signs' - it goes much deeper than that - they study how meaning is formed. Semiotic study how people first of all interprate a sign, how they then draw on cultural or personal experience to understand a sign. Pierce distinguished sign into three basic, there are: iconic, indexical, and the symbolic. An Icon has a physical resemblance to the signified, the thing being represented. Ozymandias is a fourteen-line sonnet by Percy Bysshe Shelley as English Romantic poet published in 1818. Ozymandias is a statue for another name of King Ramses the Great, Pharaoh of the nineteenth dynasty of ancient Egypt. The icon is depicted directly in the poem which represents the figure of king Ramses II with a statue. The new colossus is a statue for a classic American poem have fourteen-line sonnet by Emma Lazarus. The New Colossus was written in 1883 which adorns the pedestal of the statue of Liberty. The depiction of the character 'Mother of Exiles' as evidenced by the Statue of Liberty woman was written with the truth about what appeared and was seen and a deep sense of freedom. The portrayal depicted in the poem is immediately explained in terms of the denotation in its basic and original form. The depiction of the king's character was written with the truth of what appeared and was seen.

Abstract:
The study aims to describe and explain the results of the lexical cohesion analysis contained in Tempo.co daring media related to reporting the presidential inauguration of the October 2019 edition. The method used is in this research is a qualitative descriptive method with 3 stages: (1) searching for data, (2) analyzing data, and (3) presenting data. Research data in the form of news uploads inauguration of the president on the daring media Tempo.co in October 2019. From the results of the study there were six types of lexical cohesion, where the type of repetition or repetition of lexical cohesion is most commonly found. Â

Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to describe politeness strategies employed by the users to give comment toward Donald Trump’s Instagram Post on International Women’s Day and to explain the factors that influence the users to use the strategies. The researcher used the theory of politeness strategy by Brown and Levinson (1987). In this research, the researcher applied descriptive-qualitative method. Because this research is to more explain about the findings politeness strategies employed by the users to give comment toward Donald Trump’s Instagram post. The data were taken from comment/utterance and source of data use document such Donald Trump Instagram Post. The instrument of this research is the researcher herself. Technique of collecting data use documentation methode and technique of analysing data use data reduction, data display, and conclusion. Then, the researcher uses source triangulation to validate the data. The researcher asks lecturer who master in Linguistic as validator of source data trianggulation. In this reserach, the researcher found positive politenes strategy is the highest strategy with total 276 (53%) data out of 525 data used by the users to give the comment toward Donald Trump’s Instagram post on International Women’s Day. The researcher also found social distance factor which factor is mostly influence the users used politeness strategy. It means when the users use social media to give comment, they want to show solidarity, treat the other users as a member of in-group, a friend, a person who are known and liked. So it can save the users and Donald Trump’s face and can minimize the distance between the user and Donald Trump.
