Ghana had a census for the Muslim population in 2017 and 2021, a national census including Muslims. Two international airports were being constructed to render three international airports for Muslims to embark on planes at Accra, Cape Coast and Tamale for the annual haj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia. This paper is situated in the north, where the Gold Coast colonial government wrote diplomatic letters for the dispersed Islamic people in the Northern Territories Protectorate who travelled on haj. In 1910, British colonial officers and the Gold Coast colonial government made policies that met the Saudi monarch’s requirement that Muslim pilgrims had to travel with British passports. During the colonial era, the Gold Coast colonial government allotted passports to Muslim pilgrims in the Northern Territories Protectorate from the Gold Coast and Nigeria and controlled the finances they deposited for repatriation during haj.

Talking about fatwas in contemporary situations is both crucial and accurate. Crucial because it is a slander to the people in the religion of God and accurate because it needs an accurate methodology that no one can do unless they qualify and train for it. Thus, this study attempts to address a sound legal theory of issuing fatwa under Islamic law during the covid-19 pandemic based on qualitative methods by adopting content data analysis. The findings reveal that the expertise for issuing the fatwa, its unification, the proper understanding of the nature of the calamity, consideration of Maqāṣid al-Shari’ah, and considering Ma’alat are the major concerns that have a significant amount of impact in this regard. Hence, the study would provide a clear guideline on the role of fatwa and Mufti in contemporary Muslim society, especially in the covid-19 pandemic.

The study aimed to highlight the features of simile in the novel Bandar Shaa (Daw-al-beit) written by Tayeb Salih. The purpose of the study is to report to what extent the novel is in harmony with what it describes and the effect of that on the portrait of characters and the description of their environments, reveal the pictorial capacity of Tayeb Salih to convey the meanings he wishes, and to investigate the sources of his artistic portrait. The researcher employed a descriptive method, and after the study research, the study revealed several findings. The most important of them is the capacity of the writer to elicit the features of simile from the environment to convey meanings better than thousands of words can do. The features of simile have combined the beauty of simile and the strength of meaning. Results indicated the ability of the writer to elicit his similes and make them relevant to the meanings and explain them in ingenious details that reveal their attractions. The features of simile have revealed many meanings that signify the fears of the writer, such as the disorder of lifestyle and the acceleration of its course (Wad Hamid) and its precipice to the change, which may blow constant values and roots; this is the matter that the writer apprehends to occur at one time. The features of simile have played a significant role in transforming the character of “Daw-al-beit” into a legend and icon, through which the writer expresses the meanings he wishes. Most of the features of simile were sensual, principally in the aspect of the likened character.

Learning and teaching Arabic to non-native speakers is not easy since it is a foreign language and an unexperienced language. Hence, learners of Arabic as a second language at the university level make mistakes to identify grammatical errors in simple sentences and construct correct sentences in them while they have studied Arabic grammar in Arabic colleges in Sri Lanka for 5-7 years and in government schools as well. This research aims to identify grammatical and linguistic errors in simple sentences when writing among second language learners of Arabic. Therefore, the researchers rely in this study on the descriptive-analytical method. The following data are also used to collect information. As for the primary data, the researcher deals with the questionnaire and observation. In the questionnaire, the researcher randomly selects 159 male and female students from the Department of Arabic Language at the South Eastern University of Sri Lanka. As for secondary data, it depends on books, magazines, research, and website articles. The researcher uses the analysis method with the help of using MS Excel to analyze and verify the obtained information and evaluate its results. This research has obtained several results, including; that the students have all knowledge of the theories of simple sentences, so they like to write simple sentences and are not confused about the beginning of simple sentences. But as for the practical side, they know the writing of simple sentences in various patterns at a medium level. They also correct the error in simple sentences at a medium level.
