The era of the "Network society" acquires a continuous transformation, constantly changing the emphasis of the ontological and ontic essence of human species homo ciberneticus. However, communication remains fundamental to human existence as a substratum of interpersonal understanding, with its intended consequent effect on the various spheres of the existential paradigm. Language, as the ousia of human consciousness and the process of humanization in general, is a true substance that encodes communicative acts, that in computer being attains a broader problem of decoding. That is why in our research, we explain one of the most popular types of digital communication today: verbal messages using the artificial language emoji and non-verbal texts just with the help of optical signs. The purpose of the article led to the derivation of a hypothetico-deductive theory of allowing emoji approval in forensic linguistics expertise. That theory we have approved in the probable court cases of Ukraine with an appeal to the emoji has already approved in forensic expertise in the global context. After selecting specific emoji from different forensic cases in Europe and the United States, we have implemented an experiment with the creation of an empirical construction: a mock text with the coded contexts using selected emoji. Respondents had to decode emoji based on individual perception and interpretation. The results of the experiment with its subsequent analytical processing demonstrated the possibility and necessity of involving emoji in forensic linguistics expertise as an iconographic or pictographic type, which is relevant to the specificity of global digitization and the organization of digital communication. Taking into account all the verification stages of the data obtained, we have nominated the selected emoji as hate emoji, which are capable of destroying the communicative act and which are a digital correlate of hate speech.

The article deals with Oles Ulyanenko’s first novel «Stalinka» (1994), which presented the appearance of a new extraordinary artist in literature. Today we have a lot of research for this novel and the writer’s works in general, with a radically opposite representation of the artistic component of his works. There are studies, and not only in which the artist is accused of immorality and other «sins», but also those that contain attempts to define the writer as a kind of seer. Such ambiguity and, at the same time, high appreciation of the work of the writer by P. Zahrebelnyi, who initiated the awarding to the novice writer of the unique Small Shevchenko Prize (1997) for the novel «Stalinka», as well as F. Shteinbuk’s monograph «Pid Znakom Savaofa» or «Tam, de …» Ulyanenko» (2020) opened new dimensions for the analysis of the writer’s work. It inspired the author of the publication to comprehend the work of the extraordinary artist from archetypal criticism. The selection of the archetype «shadow» is represented in work in various guises. It is dominant for understanding the characters of the work. The interpretation of the text with the selection of this archetype helps reveal new meanings encoded by the author and gives the work new dimensions in understanding the author’s hyperbole of human sins. The publication argues that the malignant transformation of the individual is the result of external influences associated with the totalitarian reality of Stalin’s time. The general situation in the country has objectified the «shadow” archetype as the collective unconscious in its worst manifestations. Man’s overcoming of his dark nature is presented in the novel through the image of Lord-Yonka, who undergoes a kind of initiation, i.e., a series of dedicated trials, and eventually overcomes the dark part of his soul, becomes ready for another life.

Sokolovska S. F.The study of the modern literary situation, in particular, new trends in drama, is a relevant task for literary criticism. The work of playwrights of the 90s of the twentieth century deserves special attention since the literary practice of this generation of artists caused a number of significant shifts in various formally substantive areas of drama. Indicative in this respect are the works of the modern German author R. Schimmelpfennig. In the process of literary study of the play «The Golden Dragon», an analytical model of a literary text has been built, which is correlated with the interpretation model of a literary work. The chronotope and structure of the narrative reflect the artistic picture of the world and the concept of personality. Creating these aspects of artistic reality, the playwright turns to the aesthetics of B. Brecht’s epic theater. First of all, this is the alienation effect, which occurs through seventeen roles that are distributed among five actors. However, the characters are not puppet heroes, human beings without identity, they play the role of storytellers, report events, addressing directly to the audience. The author’s presence is being augmented, which is realized in the epization of a dramatic text, in the author’s direct description of the characters, in the spatio-temporal organization of the work. The reality that the world of a multi-storey building reproduces in the play does not allow a person to realize themselves. Such a manifestation becomes possible in an imaginary world, in human consciousness. The acquisition of personal uniqueness, the establishment of deep, essential connections with other people occurs in an open, unlimited mental space.

The article deals with the review of contemporary state of the study of the political discourse addressee category in the works of East-European linguists; the topicality and importance of the study of the addressee category is substantiated. Inadequate attention towards the research of the discourse addressee constituent in comparison to the text constituent and the forwarder constituent of the political discourse is pointed out. The necessary connection with the addressness (targeting) category in the study of the political discourse addressee constituent is emphasized. The paper includes a brief history of the research of the addressness (targeting) category, as it is the basis of the study of the political discourse addressee phenomenon. It is shown that the attention to an addressee as a category appeared in linguistics quite a while ago and can be attributed primarily to the works of M. Bakhtin and Yu. Lotman, owing to who the interest to the category in question was spread throughout other European linguistic schools and university research departments. Notwithstanding its long history, the categorical features of text and discourse targeting are still not formulated clearly enough, either in linguistic or in non-linguistic paradigms; however, the necessity of the multi-paradigm studies is acknowledged. There exist a few papers, published within the last decade, in which certain attempts were made to outline and determine categorical features of the addressee category. However, they either dealt with other kinds of discourse, for instance, with the belles-lettres one, or were made on a limited research material. Hence, the category in question remains poorly studied, and this fact only emphasizes the timeliness of its further research.

The research deals with the essence of text-forming aspects of structural types of secondary nomination in French poetic texts. The aesthetic directions of development of French culture of the XVII century are described. It is assumed that in the French literature of the period of Preciosity in the basis of secondary nominative activity rest cognitive mechanisms of knowledge of contemporary realities and their styling in art speech of the authors of the mentioned times. For the disclosure of cognitive-pragmatic mechanisms of secondary nomens to denote objects of reality, displayed in French precious literature, a comprehensive methodology has been developed that was proved effective in determination of structural-semantic types of secondary nomination with their varieties and performance in the works of Pierre de Marbeuf, Vincent Voiture, Claude de Malleville, Madeleine de Scudéry. A new criterion for the typification of secondary units according to their belonging to the grammatical or lexical-semantic level of the language has been proposed. Structural types of secondary nomination (grammatical anaphora) relate to the grammatical process of repetition of a word, phrase, or syntagm using a secondary nomen (anaphora). Pronoun, noun, adjectival, adverbial, verbal (simple, complex) and propositional structural types of secondary nomens are traced out. They are classified into such kinds as exact, inexact, conceptual, divergent, associative and zero ones. The semantic types of the secondary nomination are united by the common principle of creation: associative thinking and expressive-figurative content. Among them stand out the stylistic anaphora, metaphor (announced/explicit, direct/pure, developed, proportional, dead, contextual), metonymy and periphrasis.A lexical analysis of specific types of secondary nouns, such as nouns, pronouns, adjectives, verb anaphors and their varieties in the poetry of the brightest representatives of the Precision period is also presented. The functions and purpose of the use of the studied means by the mentioned authors are clarified.

The article deals with the study of stylistic techniques and means of expression characteristic of English speech expression, the study of means and methods of communication of independent sentences, as well as phrasal units, ways to combine them into fragments and whole speech texts. The paper identifies and generalizes scientific approaches to the study of stylistic syntax techniques, analyzes syntactic constructions that have expressive potential and pragmatic orientation. It is established that the subject of syntactic stylistics is also the study of the specifics of the functioning of expressive means and techniques in complex linguistic texts. It is found that the stylistic technique is realized, as a rule, in the context of phrasal units, paragraph and whole text, and the interaction of sentence models in these contexts gives emotional and expressive meaning to the segments of speech that they form. Thus, stylistic devices based on formal and semantic interactions of several syntactic constructions or sentences in a particular context, is one of the richest sources of speech expression. These stylistic devices serve as a means of poetic syntax, and are widely used in fiction, journalism and are found in scientific language. Despite the fact that each stylistic device individually contributes to the overall expressiveness of the text, a greater effect is achieved through their interaction, and with the help of these stylistic devices, contact with the addressee is established, the emotional background and emphaticity of the text are enhanced. Therefore, expressive means and stylistic techniques of syntax, which are created both with the use of stylistically marked constructions and without their participation, are one of the richest means of stylistics of the English language. The considered cases of violation of the usual logic of syntactic connection of parts of a complex sentence, semantic differences between their usual and occasional use bring subjective motives into the text and are used with certain stylistic purposes, which due to functioning together have a greater effect.

Appealing to emotions from the point of its discursive influence on recipients is researched in the paper. The relevance of the article is due to the dearth of research and lack in-depth analysis done on the subject in the context of importance of influencing in court. In this article, the author in detail sets out the differences between such notions as emotions and feelings. The views of leading scientists dealing with the phenomena are carefully analysed. Considerable attention is given to the applied nature of the research. The primary purpose of this piece of research is to investigate appeal to emotions in Anglophone court discourse from the point of its influence on litigants. The following objectives have been set: to clarify the terminological apparatus involved in the article; to find out the way of influencing emotions on litigants; to establish the language means expressing stratagemеs of appeal to emotions in Anglophone court discourse. Mention should be made of the following methods that were used here to achieve the aim: linguistic observation and analysis, as well as cognitive method, critical discourse analysis method, pragmatic analysis method. It has been proven that the advocate can generate a new emotional perception of the circumstances of the lawsuit, focusing the decision-maker's attention on certain points of the known information or throwing in a new piece of information, which in turn can change the mind of the judge and the jury. With this point in mind, the prosecution also appeals to emotion, albeit as an ability that awakens ethical/moral intelligence. In terms of linguistic representation, the appeal to emotion is realised through the discursive activation of the thematic sphere «emotional state». It has been established that the ultimate goal of an advocate is to provoke a certain emotional response that causes the recipient to have certain feelings. Specific thematic groups with a common seme "intuitive perception", "sensory perception", which realise the appeal to feelings have been identified.

The article deals with the study of L. Lunts' report «Go West!» in the context of the leading ideas of the literary discussion of 1925–1928. L. Lunts was a theorist of the Russian literary collective «Brothers Serapions», his literary-critical articles represent such depth and perspectives that were ahead of his time. In the article by O. Kryzhanovska, it turns out that reflections on the ways of development of modern Russian literature turned out to be consonant with many world literatures, in particular Ukrainian. Report by L. Lunts «Go West!» (1922) fully represents his creative convictions and reveals much in common with the main vectors of the literary discussion of 1925-1928. The article proves that L. Lunts's article «Go West!» allows us to see the commonality of those artistic and aesthetic searches that existed in the 1920s in Ukrainian and Russian literature and represented the European vector of artistic landmarks. L. Lunts positioned himself as a «Western» writer. He emphasized the need to turn modern literature to the traditions of the West, in particular, to the tradition of fable prose. In the report «Go West!» the author notes that the provinciality of Russian literature is manifested in a dismissive attitude to the plot, to intrigue and an interesting plot. O. Kryzhanovska proved that under the dramatic plot L. Lunts understood the presence of such effective techniques that allow the viewer to arouse interest and emotional reaction. L. Lunts calls all modern literature boring and illiterate. The author insistently encourages writers to study Western literature and orient themselves towards Western traditions. O. Kryzhanovska proved that in two years the ideas of L. Lunts were consonant with the main dominant of the literary discussion of 1925-1928 in Ukraine. The conviction of the need to assimilate European artistic experience, get rid of the provincial and secondary, the call to learn from the world's best artists demonstrates the typological similarity of the views of such authors as Lev Lunts, Mykola Khvylovy and Mykola Zerov.

The article is devoted to elucidating the specifics of reflecting the peculiarities of the functioning of the concept of «happiness» in B. Antonenko-Davydovych’s prose with emphasis on its evolution. The creation of each writer provides an opportunity to reproduce his unique picture of the world, the components of which are concepts, their selection and generalization contributes to a more complete and objective understanding of the artist’s creation. The concepts are a kind of artistic embodiment of the writer’s worldview, the result of the interaction of individual and creative skills with the environment and temporal realities. B. Antonenko-Davydovych’s creation concentrates the personal experience of the writer, testifies to the uniqueness of his worldview, reveals the cultural and life experience, reflects his reception of the world. The concept of «happiness» is presented with different connotations in all periods of the writer’s work. The understanding of happiness by the characters in B. Antonenko-Davydovych’s works is evolving. Initially, the feeling of happiness correlates with memories of childhood, love for a woman, «related» work, gradually transforming into an adult conscious feeling of mutual love. The works of the writer testify to the gradual realization of true happiness. The story «Happiness» is significant for understanding the specifics of the functioning of the concept of «happiness» in the B. Antonenko-Davydovych’s creation. This is one of the last works of the writer, that was written at a fairly mature age, so the concept of «happiness» is presented here most fully, representing all its components, which in early work were outlined only in dotted lines. The work is supreme for understanding the concept of «happiness» by the writer. From the height of years and his life experience B. Antonenko-Davydovych proves that eternal ideals – love for a woman and love for people give a person a true feeling of happiness.

The late period of Ivan Franko's artistic work is characterized by the presence of a number of stories that contain a naturalistic reproduction of Jewish themes. In such stories as «Pure Race», «In the Prison Hospital», «In the Carpentry», «In the Forge (From My Memories)» there are memories of the author about different stages of his life, which clearly distinguishes the Jewish theme revealed by naturalistic means. The story «Pure Race» demonstrates the collision in the life of an old Jew who found himself in a compartment of a train with representatives of other nationalities. The description of events in the compartment is presented with elements of naturalism – the use of factualism and a detailed description of events, the objectivity of the image. The story «In the prison hospital» has the following naturalistic features: the story tells about the stay in the hospital of two or three seriously ill people with a detailed description of the circumstances of their lives with factual accuracy. The story «In the Carpentry» contains a fragment from the life of a Jew, written by the author from his youthful memories and under the influence of a certain historical moment. The story describes the terrible murder of calves by a Jewish boy, with the fixation of all the details that convey all the burden of what was seen in the soul of the hero. The story «In the Forge (From my memories)» contains the author's childhood memories from his stay in the father's forge with the recording of all the small moments of his impressions. In the memoirs there is a naturalistic description with a detailed account of events in life of Boryslav. In the above stories, with the help of naturalistic means, the problems of Jewish life in Galicia are reproduced. Among the naturalistic features of the depiction of Jewish figures there are: factography, detailed description with fixation of all the details as a consequence of scientific accuracy, plausibility, objectivity of reproduction and unity in the depiction of natural and social factors, which together makes the reader their witness.
