Abstract:
Ta’lim Muta’alim is a classic book written by Syekh Al Zarnuzi on 593 H. As the writer of Ta'lim al-Muta'allim Thariq al-Ta'allum, he emphasizes the aspect of character values physical and spiritual. In this book, education is not only transfer of knowledge and skills, but the most important here is the transfer of character values. The purpose of writing this article is to examine the influence of Talim Muta’alim understanding to santri character development. The research methodology used in this research is based on quantitative approach with path analysis model that explores causality (causal effectual), which analyzes the relationship between Ta’lim Muta’alim understanding variable and santri character at Nurussalam Islamic Modern Boarding School Medangasem Jayakerta Karawang. The results showed that Ta’lim Muta’alim understanding positively and significantly 20,3% influence the santri’s character which suported all of member of boarding school, especially kyai, teachers and santri can run the teaching-learning process. Abstract:
The purpose of this study is to describe the Implementation of the Islamic Boarding School Education System in the Self-Reliance of Santri in Learning at the Ar Rommel Boarding House at the Darul Islamic Boarding School ‘Ulum Peterongan Jombang. This study aims to find out information about the pesantren education system in Ar Rommel's Dormitory. This research is a qualitative research,). Data collection techniques in this study was direct observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that: (1) The existence of Pesantren education system in Ar Rommel dormitory is reading a yellow book, recitation (fasholatan, istighosah, and surah in the Qur'an), reading the Qur'an. (2) the student independence is not merely assessed from their learning, but in the spirit of independence, including the category of independence such as increasing self-confidence (3) Implementation of supporting factors in the pesantren education system at the Ar Rommel dormitory, are responsibility and togetherness, teachers (asatidz ) comes on time. Furthermore, the implementation of the inhibiting factors of the pesantren education system in this dormitory is students who are late to join the teaching and learning process and teachers (asatidz) who cannot participate in teaching activities due to private events. Abstract:
Multiculturalism is the cultural diversity of communities within a given society and the policies that promote this diversity. As a descriptive term, multiculturalism is the simple fact of cultural diversity and the demographic make-up of a specific place, sometimes at the organizational leve. As a prescriptive term, multiculturalism encourages ideologies and policies that promote this diversity or its institutionalization. In this sense, multiculturalism is a society “at ease with the rich tapestry of human life and the desire amongst people to express their own identity in the manner they see fit. This paper discusses multicultural ideologies or policies vary widely, ranging from the advocacy of equal respect to the various cultures in a society, to a policy of promoting the maintenance of cultural diversity, to policies in which people of various ethnic and religious groups are addressed by the authorities as defined by the group they belong to. Pluralism, diversity and multiculturalism is a daily fact of life in Indonesia. There are over 300 ethnic groups in Indonesia. The Javanese is the largest ethnic group in Indonesia who make up nearly 42% of the total population. The Sundanese, Malay, and Madurese are the next largest groups in the country. There are also more than 700 living languages spoken in Indonesia and although predominantly Muslim the country also has large Christian and Hindu populations. This paper also uncloses the model of Islamic Moderation in Indonesia societies in the light of Various Cultures and Relegion.

Abstract:
Planting of character education must be carried out continuously. The characters that have been planted in school must be strengthened in college. The planting of character education must be taught, familiarized, trained consistently, become character and become a culture, so that the planting of education is not only in school, but must be strengthened into a culture in college. Strengthening the character in college should be more endeavored to make students who are faithful, pious, noble, moral, ethical and civilized based on the nation's noble values of religion, Pancasila, the Constitution of 1945 and the culture of moderating Islamic values. The noble values of the nation from religion and the culture of Islamic values of moderation can be seen from the Aswaja teachings that can be embedded in the teachings that can strengthen character education in universities. This research is a qualitative research conducted at Wahid Hasyim University, Semarang, which is one of the universities that base Aswaja as a foundation for strengthening character education. The source of the data is obtained from primary and secondary data. Data collection method is done by interview, documentation and observation, while data analysis method uses descriptive analysis method. The results of the study show that the concept of aswaja teaching at Wahid Hasyim University is used as the foundation that underlies all activities carried out on campus, both matters relating to aqidah, worship/sharia, and morals. As for strengthening character education through Aswaja teachings, it was carried out by making Aswaja Center which regulates activities related to Aswaja. The implementation of the Aswaja teachings is carried out through habituation, guidance and consultation related to religious practices. Aswaja's teachings are also integrated in courses according to each faculty. Key Words : Aswaja, Education, Character.

Abstract:
This article is a review of a book written by Nasaruddin Umar, titled “Doors towards Happiness: Learning 9 Art of Happy Life in the World and the Hereafter/ Pintu-Pintu Menuju Kebahagiaan: Belajar 9 Seni Hidup Bahagia di Dunia dan Akhirat”. This study aims to photograph his unique ideas about Spiritual Happiness. Then, the author offers it as a theoretical review of Islamic Psychology, in response to the problem of happiness in Western-modern psychology. Through this study, the author showed Nasaruddin Umar's influence on the views of some Sufis such as Ibn ‘Arabi and ‘AbdulKarim al-Jillī in interpreting happiness. In addition, the author seeks to map several important principles used as the foundation of theory, both theoretical and practical.

Abstract:
World peace is still something that is not easily realized. One ofserious threats on world peace comes from acts of terrorism. Actsof terrorism in the name of religion are being brought in somecountries. The number of victims of terrorism continues to increaseover time. And the present moment is the worst condition throughoutrecorded history. Acts of terrorism in the development not onlytargets the State with all its symbols, but also the civil society. Soyou could say the conditions today are very asymmetrical.Departing from these conditions, then Indonesia as a country witha large Muslim population, it is appropriate to perform a mission ofworld peace. The mission of world peace can be played bymaximizing the role of the citizens of Indonesia diaspora. Thediaspora has the potential to develop a peace mission which initself will improve the reputation of Indonesia.Keywords: diaspora; Indonesian muslim; world peace

Abstract:
This research aims to present an objective description about Qisas (retaliation) in Islam as one of sensitive punishments in the Muslim and world society as well. It is as the impact of spreading globalization that popularizes human rights and liberalism. This study uses descriptive analytical method. It tries to uncover basic foundation of Islamic law and principles of Muslim interrelation. Punishment in Islam is only based on justice and maintenance broader social welfare. It could not be executed if just be based on the assumption and not the concrete passages. Moreover, there are so many requirements and principles that must be fulfilled to implement it. The interesting one is the prophetic tradition ordered to avoid giving the punishment as we can. Thus the implementation of law in Islam like qisas (retaliation) is hardly practiced. In other word, views on Islamic law should be clearly objective and uses various perspectives to reach scientific and objective conclusion. Keywords: Islam; justice, qiṣāṣ;punishment of crime

Abstract:
This paper generally aimed to find out that Islam is love andpeace religion. By using a historical approach, the writer triedto investigate a number of facts showing Islam has promotedinterreligious harmony and has from its inception laid thefoundation of relationship between Islam and other religions. Itmeans that it is not only theoretically but also practically. Basedon historical facts which have been well-documented in SirahNabawiyah, the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) became the firstperson who practiced and implemented the teachings ofreligious tolerance; respecting and helping others andconducting religious dialogue to create harmonious life inmulticultural country, Medina. Abstract:
Identity attached in a group always coincides with the perception within it. Identity of general Batak society is perceived as the masculine identity created the gap between female and male in term of the social and economy resources. Batak society who live outside of Bonapasogit likely more solid than they live in Bonapasogit. Itcan be proved by the intense meeting internal Batak community more often than in Bonapasogit. Due the penetration from other cultures force them who reside out Bonapasogit more united among them. Meanwhile, for people live in Bonapasogit the only threat coming from their own community because they didn’t face the penetration from outsiders. Especially, for female Batak community the threat is the dominating patrilineality who standstill the tradition which isn’t favored to female. In densely population in cities, marga can be used as the supported tools in relationship even many female Batak were born outside Bonapasogit still use marga for their advantage purpose, especially in bureaucracy. Meanwhile for Angkola Batak who live their hometown has the different situation due don’t get advantage the beneficiary of marga. Abstract:
The purpose of this paper is to elucidate and to look for efforts todeter spreading radicalism phenomena in the world. The terrorattacks have engulfed many part of the world and blamed onradical and extremist groups who have put Islam and Muslim onworld attention. Indeed the terror attacks have heightened agrowing sense of Islamophobia. And therein is the paradox! Shouldthe activities and “sin” of individual Muslim(s) or group(s) bevisited on an entire community and relegion? As a consequenceIslam is perceived as religion with a predilection to conflict, aggressionand violence, peace is the kennel of Islamic religion and one ofits significant ingredients. Many factor causing these phenomena,one of them is misunderstanding and misperception on Islamicnorm and teaching they had got. It must be wrong in the process ofnorm transferring and teaching-knowledge, and values. Educationis the rational answered and effort to prevent and deter radicalismphenomena.
