Abstract:
In this study, the potential of sunflower protein hydrolysates to inhibit angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) and dipeptidyl peptidase-IV (DPP-IV) enzyme was determined. Sunflower protein isolate was hydrolyzed with Alcalase and Trypsin+Chymotrypsin enzymes and the obtained protein hydrolysates were fractionated by ultrafiltration (5 kDa). The degrees of hydrolysis achieved by Alcalase and Trypsin+Chymotrypsin enzymes were 27% and 13%, respectively. The most potent ACE inhibitory activity (IC50=0.06 ± 0.01 mg/mL) was observed for the fraction that has molecular weight below 5 kDa, which was hydrolyzed by Trypsin+Chymotrypsin enzyme (P

Abstract:
This research was carried out to determine the effects of diets containing different levels of threonine on the performance, carcass characteristics, and serum biochemical parameters of growing Japanese quails. In the study, a total of 240 mixed sex quail chicks at the age of one day were randomly allocated to 6 treatment groups with 4 subgroups. Experimental diets were prepared to contain threonine at 0.84 (without L-threonine addition), 1.02 (control), 1.10, 1.20, 1.30 and 1.40% levels, and quails were fed with these treatment diets for six weeks. The threonine level of the diet did not statistically affect the performance and carcass parameters of quails, but the best feed efficiency was obtained at 1.10% threonine level. While serum cholesterol, total protein, albumin, creatinine, calcium and AST levels were not affected by dietary threonine level, serum glucose, triglyceride, globulin, urea, and phosphorus levels were statistically affected. With 1.30% threonine in the diet, serum glucose and triglyceride levels were minimum, while serum globulin level was maximum. Serum phosphorus level considerably increased at 1.40% threonine level compared to the control group. According to these results, it can be said that the addition of 1.10% threonine to diet would be proper for growing quails.

Abstract:
During the production of olive oil two types of waste are generated: wastewater and olive pomace. Since these wastes have high biochemical and chemical oxygen needs, they have harmful effects on the environment. However, in addition to these damages, many bioactive compounds in olive are transferred to wastewater and pomace during oil processing. Hydroxytyrosol, tyrosol and oleuropein are bioactive components that are dominantly found in both olive oil wastewater and pomace, and these compounds have many bioactivities that positively affect human health. As a result of scientific studies, it has been proven that hydroxytyrosol, tyrosol and oleuropein compounds exhibit various bioactivities such as antioxidant activity, anti-inflammatory effect, cardioprotective effect, neuroprotective effect, chemoprevention properties, antidiabetic effect, antimicrobial and antiviral effect. These wastes are recycled in various sectors such as food, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals due to the bioactive components they contain. It has been reported by scientific studies that wastewater and pomace contain phenolic compounds, pectic polysaccharides and fibers. These can be used as natural preservatives, antioxidants, food enrichers, packaging materials in the food industry. In this review, the production methods, chemical and biological properties of olive oil wastewater and pomace and studies investigating the use potential of these wastes in the food sector are compiled.

Abstract:
Beekeeping, which can be established with little capital and can provide strong economic returns, is one of the important branches of animal husbandry. Beekeeping has an important place in Yozgat's agricultural sector with 411 enterprises. At the end of 2019, there are a total of 29,370 beehives in Yozgat. Honey production has been less than the general of Turkey according to the presence of hive. Achieving more efficient production is possible by identifying the problems in the current production. With this study, it was determined the technical and socio-cultural structures of the existing beekeeping enterprises in Yozgat city center and its districts through a survey study. For this purpose, information about the enterprises was obtained from the Yozgat Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry and the Yozgat Beekeepers' Association. A sample of 135 beekeepers was created by examining the data of a total of 411 beekeepers. The survey was conducted with these selected beekeepers. According to the findings, a statistically significant difference was found between beekeeper groups in terms of experience of breeders, ownership of land and honey yield. Therefore, it can be said that the scale of the enterprise has grown in parallel with the increase in the experience of the breeders. Similarly, property land assets increase according to the scale of the enterprise. On the other hand, it is observed that honey yield decreases with the increase in scale in beekeeping enterprises. This means that the efficiency of the enterprises in Yozgat province decreases with the scale growth.

Abstract:
In this study, 51 morphometric 8 meristic characteristics of Luciobarbus barbulus (Heckel 1847), Luciobarbus esocinus Heckel 1843 and Luciobarbus xanthopterus Heckel 1843 species living in Özlüce Dam Lake were examined. Maximum, minimum, mean, standard deviation, standard error and coefficients of variation (%) of morphometric characters and their ratios to each other were calculated. In addition, correlation coefficients were calculated with the regression equation of standard height ratios of morphometric measurements, and as a result, strong positive correlations were determined. From the meristic characters, the number of scales in the lateral line and transversal direction, the number of simple and soft rays on the fins, the number of gill spines, the rows and numbers of the pharynx teeth were determined, and the descriptive features of each species were determined.

Abstract:
In this study, determination of the morphometric parameters and egg fecundity freshwater crayfish (Astacus leptodactylus Eschscholtz, 1823), measurement and comparing of were aimed in Tatlı and Gıcı Lakes from Bafra Fish Lakes in Samsun, Turkey. The research was carried out between November 2018 and October 2019 by monthly catching of freshwater crayfish using fyke net at determined stations. While 105 of 242 freshwater crayfish from Tatlı Lake were female and 137 were male, 87 of 216 freshwater crayfish from Gıcı Lake were female and 129 were male and the difference between the sexes was not significant. The average total length and average weight of freshwater crayfish from Tatlı Lake were 10.27±0.09 cm and 33.76±0.88 g, respectively. In Gıcı Lake, the average total length and average weight of freshwater crayfish were 10.44±0.41 cm and 37.15±1.91 g, respectively. A strong positive linear relationship was found between length and weight of freshwater crayfish in Tatlı Lake and Gıcı Lake. However, the claw length and claw width of the male freshwater crayfish were greater. The average number of individual eggs, the average total egg weight, the average unit egg weight and the average egg diameter of the sampled egged crayfish in Tatlı Lake were 241.24±11.94, 3.22±0.17 g, 0.013±0.001 g and 2.61±0.02 mm, respectively. These were 245.38±15.87, 3.03±0.19 g, 0.013±0.001 g and 2.73±0.02 mm for sampled egged lobsters in Gıcı Lake, respectively. At the end of the study, it was determined that the environmental and morphometric parameters, egg fecundity of freshwater crayfish in Tatlı and Gıcı Lakes were similar between the lakes.

Abstract:
The current research was carried out to determine the effect of adding sodium formate at the level of 0, 5, and 10 g/kg to the diets on the performance, egg quality and some serum parameters in layer Japanese quails. In the experiment, a total of 84 female quails at the age of 20 weeks were randomly distributed to 3 treatment groups with 7 replicates. At the end of the experiment, the addition of sodium formate at different levels to the diet did not statistically affect performance and egg quality parameters. Compared with the control group, the supplementation of 10 g/kg sodium formate to the diet considerably decreased the serum glucose concentration, while the serum calcium concentration increased significantly. Furthermore, the administration of sodium formate to diet significantly decreased serum triglyceride and cholesterol concentrations. According to the results obtained from the study, it was determined that the addition of sodium formate to the diet was effective in reducing serum glucose, triglyceride and cholesterol concentrations and increasing serum calcium concentration without affecting the performance and egg quality parameters of laying quails, and this effect was more pronounced at 10 g/kg sodium formate level.

Abstract:
This study was carried out to determine the effects of Bacillus subtilis addition to growing Japanese quail diets on growth performance, some serum parameters and carcass parameters. In the study, a total of 200 mixed-sex Japanese quail (Coturnix coturnix japonica) chicks were fed for 35 days with diets formed with the addition of different levels of control and Bacillus subtilis (250, 500, 750 mg/kg). The study was carried out in 4 treatment groups with 5 replications. At the end of the experiment, Bacillus subtilis levels did not affect the feed intake and feed conversation ratio, which are performance parameters, but affected the body weight and body weight gain statistically significantly. The addition of Bacillus subtilis to the diets of growing Japanese quails showed that glucose and creatinine concentrations were significantly affected, and urea, triglyceride, cholesterol, total protein, phosphorus and calcium values were not affected by the treatment levels. Among the carcass parameters, carcass yield, liver weight, pancreas weight, heart weight, gizzard weight and intestinal length did not statistically differ between the treatment groups. According to the results of the present study, it can be said that the addition of Bacillus subtilis at the level of 500 mg/kg to growing quail diets may be beneficial in terms of improving performance.

Abstract:
In this study, olive oil producing, processing and intermediary enterprises in the TR22 Region in the 2017-18 production year were examined. As a result of the study, it was found that oil mills, olive oil factories, traders, retailers, TARİŞ and final consumers form the marketing channels in olive oil and olive oil in the research region. It was found that the waiting of oil grain olives as a result of agglomeration in post-harvest processing centers, the use of sacks in the transportation of oil grain olives, the mixing of bottom olives with the ones plucked from the branch and the use of poles in harvesting were found to reduce the efficiency. It has been found that increasing the olive paste temperature above the optimum level, opening the lid of the malaxer machine during kneading, and the emergence of the black water problem as a result of the use of three-phase and classical systems are the factors that reduce the marketing efficiency in the processing service. It was found that the marketing margin of the intermediaries was 1.64% in olive oil, 20.00% of traders in olive oil, 14.06% of factories and 22.58% of retailers. The difference between producer prices and retail prices was 51.16% for olive oil.
