LEADERSHIP STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT IN IMPROVING THE QUALITY OF JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL (SMP) TEACHERS IN KARAWANG. Education at the secondary level is a first step in a journey of a protege life where this is a serious thing in a management of an educational institution at the junior level (SMP). Therefore an education at junior level requires a competitive leadership quality in being able to build a new strategy in improving teacher quality. If observed the quality of junior high school teachers in Karawang regency in particular requires a freshness in an education management process, where every educational institution requires a leader figure who can improve the teachers quality. Thus, a school leader must have a strategic in managing teachers and staff. So this study aims to determine the extent to which strategic management has been done in improving the quality of junior high school teachers in Karawang. Research method used is descriptive qualitative. The research was conducted on the leader in junior high school in Karawang regency, with research time from March to December 2015. While in the preparation of this study, the authors take field research where to obtain accurate and objective data, the researchers come directly to the location of research that is in Karawang regency.

THE STRATEGY OF SMK TEACHER COMPETENCY IMPROVEMENT IN THE CONTEXT OF INDUSTRIAL STANDARDS FULFILLMENT. The aim of this research are: to find out the strategic effort in increasing SMK teacher’s competency of SMK, in order to produce SMK graduated base on Industry Standard. We used three theory; 1) Hard and soft skill theory; 2) SMK Teacher`s Competency; 3) Strategic Planning, management and thinking; Qualitative descriptive is more compatible we are used in this research, to explore some information, especially some hidden information; The result of this research are: honesty, attitude, leadership, positive thinking, hard worker, team building, etc.; 2) The teacher`s competency are needed to produce SMK graduated while high competency, included: a) Competency to accomodir what the industry are needed; b) How to translate it to curriculum, syllabus and RPP; How to redesign education`s system base on industry`s system, in order to produce SMK graduated based on industry; 3) There are some strategic to increase SMK teacher competency, included: a) Give more reward; b) Redesign effort in increasing teacher competency, base on financial perspective, customer perspective, internal organization perspective and growth perspective; c) Involved the teacher in discussing prose`s with all company in redesign curriculum and education process; d) Redesign environment that give the teacher`s opportunity to increase their competency; e) Redesign evaluation system; f) Redesign clear criteria for SMK teacher evaluation; g) Headmaster must to develop humanism leadership and give more attention to SMK to increase teacher attitude; h) Conducted discussion process with all teacher in the education institution to increase their competency based on industry needed.

UTILIZATION OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY (ICT) IN MATHEMATICS LEARNING. The aims of this study are (1) to explain the definition of Information and Communication Technology (ICT); (2) to explain the importance of ICT used in Mathematics Learning; (3) to describe how much ICT used in Mathematics Learning in indoensia; (4) to elaborate the positive and negative effects of implementing ICT used in Mathematics learning. The methods used are literature review and description of interviews to educators and learners in the field of mathematics education. Information and Communication Technology is an electronic equipment consisting of hardware and software as well as any activities related to processing, manipulation, management, and transfer of information between media. It has has a function to produce quality and communicative information. In Indonesia, the use of Information and Communication Technology is still in integrating level, shown by the use of technology in learning. The utilization of information technology, in addition to efforts to overcome the technical problems of learning as a learning medium, as well as an effort to answer the substantial problem of learning as a source of teaching and encourage computer literacy acceleration in Indonesian society.

THE IMPLEMENTATION OF PROBING PROMPTING LEARNING MODEL ON UNDERSTANDING SKILLS OF STUDENT MATHEMATICS CONCEPT. This study aims to determine the ability of understanding the Probing Prompting grade VIII MTs MA Cikaliung model. The research method used posttest-only nonequivalent control group design. Based on the results of hypothesis testing obtained t count = 0.883 and ttable = -1.672 with significance level α = 0.05. The words H0 and H1 are rejected, things that require an understanding of mathematical concepts capable of digging better than others.

APPLICATION OF RESOURCE BASED LEARNING (RBL) MODEL IN EFFORTS TO IMPROVE MASTERY ABILITY OF SCIENCE CONCEPT. The study is aims to determine the improvement of the ability mastery of science concept by applying Resource Based Learning (RBL) learning model. The method used in this research is a classroom action research method consisting of three cycles, where in each cycle there are two meetings except in cycle III only one meeting. Resource Based Learning (RBL) learning model can improve students’ mastery of science concept of SMPN 3 Satap Cikulur. The improvement of students’ mastery of science is obtained from the results of data on cycle I activity that obtained an average score reached 67,88 and students who got the complete criteria of 19 students, in the cycle II reached an average score of 74,69 and students who received the complete criteria of 29 students, in the cycle III reached an average score of 82,69 and students who received the complete criteria of 34 students. From the results of the cycle that has been done the classroom action research activities using RBL learning model is said to work because the completeness of learning criteria reach 70 %. It is seen in the third cycle that reaches an average value of 82,69 and students who get the complete study criteria is 34 students means 85% of 40 students.

EFFECT OF EMPOWERMENT AND JOB SATISFACTION TOWARD JOB PERFORMANCE OF LECTURER IN MAJALENGKA UNIVERSITY, WEST JAVA. The objective of this research is to understand comprehensively the effect of empowerment and job satisfaction toward job performance of lecturer in Majalengka University, West Java. A survey method with path analysis techniques was used by applying a questioner as a research instrument. 80 responders were involved by sending their feedback within the questioner. Those responders were decided using simple random sampling among all lecturers that working at the Majalengka University. The data result, analysis and interpretation reveal that (1) empowerment has a direct positive effect toward job performance, (2) job satisfaction has a direct positive effect toward job performance, (3) empowerment has a direct positive effect toward job satisfaction.

REGROUPING PROGRAM OF PRIMARY SCHOOL (SD) IN IMPROVING EFFECTIVENESS AND EFFICIENCY OF EDUCATION. The fact shows that the implementation of primary school level education must still receive attention, whether in the aspects of employment, finance, educational facilities and infrastructure which are still far from the desired expectations, the limited budget for education as well. The effort to improve the education budget appears to be in the current situation and condition, not yet possible to do. On the basis of that consideration, the policy of Primary School Regrouping is the most feasible effort to be done as a breakthrough step to realize efficiency and effectiveness in carrying out educational operational tasks. Judging from the public policy study the significance of the Elementary School regrouping program is to increase the success of effective and efficient primary school. While from the aspect of public interest, with the incorporation of Primary School can provide the best service to the public in the field of education. Further data obtained and the value of information that the policy of incorporation elementary school is appropriate to be implemented and has been able to create teaching and learning activities more effective and efficient. In addition, it has also been able to improve the work performance and motivation of principals and teachers in performing their duties, to improve the participation of the School Board significantly in assisting the smooth management of the school.

EDUCATIONAL COMMUNICATION PATTERN OF SALAFI BOARDING SCHOOL INTERACTIONISM SYMBOLIC STUDY IN MISBAHULKHOIR SALAFI BOARDING SCHOOL BOJONG PURWAKARTA. Salafi boarding school considered as a phenolmena refers to traditional institution of education as an integration of values and culture which contribute to uniqueness tradition and point of view. The uniqueness of salafi boarding school is represented by the symbols and its meaning. The meaning is done by the boarding society, where santri, ustad, and kyai are included, has give us a full meaning of point of view. The meaning as a product of interpretation on symbols to merge in interaction process, and the meaning as the life itself merging in the educational communication pattern of salafi boarding school. The aim of this research are to describe santri, ustad, and kyai understanding on self-concepts, meaning on the symbols as objects, meaning on symbolic activities, and the shared-meaning between members of salafi society. This research is using Herbert Blumer’s Interactionism Symbolic theory with qualitative approach and constructivism method and using Sympathetic Instrospection to analyze. The result of this research is that the self-concept has form the meaning on symbolic objects that include physical and non-physical objects which is forming in symbolic activities so all of it would perform the shared meaning as a educational communication pattern of salafi boarding school.

INDIVIDUAL SUPERVISION TECHNIQUES TO IMPROVE THE ABILITY OF PHYSICS TEACHERS IN HIGH SCHOOL (SMA). The aim of this study is to know how the process of implementation of supervision techniques individual for teacher in academic supervision and improve the ability of physics teachers in the implementation of the learning process. Physics teachers who are subjects of science interest in high school still experience some obstacles in the implementation of learning. In general, the problem covers: the understanding of the Minister of National Education Regulation No. 65 of 2013 on Process Standards of Education by both teachers and principals is not evenly distributed; the implementation of academic supervision by the principal is often done just to meet the administrative demands, especially before the accreditation of schools. Based on these problems, then research on academic supervision with individual meeting supervision techniques is very important to be implemented, given the ability of teachers in the learning process is still problematic. Based on the results of the study, academic supervision with individual supervision techniques is able to competency of Physics teachers in high school (SMA).

DIFFERENCES IN INCREASED ACHIEVEMENT OF SCIENCE LEARNING THROUGH PROBLEM BASED AND INQUIRY LEARNING GUIDED PRINCIPLES OF ENERGY AND POWER AT GRADE IX OF SMPN 20 BANDAR LAMPUNG. Difference Improving Learning Achievement of Science Through Learning Based On Problem And Discussion Guided Inquiry Energy And Power Supply Of Ninth Grade At Smpn 20 Bandar Lampung. The research aims to know : (1) difference in improving pre-test and post-test of cognitive in learning based of problem. (2) difference in improving pre-test and post-test of cognitive in learning guided inquiry. (3) difference in improving student's post-test of cognitive in learning based of problem and guided inquiry. This research is an experimental research by "pre-tes post-test one group design". Population in this research is all of the students of ninth grade at SMPN 20 Bandar Lampung. Sampling by purposive technique of ninth grade A and ninth grade C. Data is analyzed by mean difference test. Conclusion in this research are: (1) there is a difference in improving between cognitive test score is learning based on problem 18,98. (2) there is a difference in improving cognitive test score in learning guided inquiry 10,85. (3) there is a difference in improving cognitive test score is learning based on problem with cognitive test score in guided learning 3,60.
