Abstract:
With the widespread application of smartphones in and outside the classroom, mobile-based teaching and learning is drawing much attention and hence being extensively practised nowadays across the globe. Recently, using smartphones for assessment purposes has been a new phenomenon and the researchers are still examining what processes the use of mobile-based assessment tools may include and what outcomes and challenges they can cause to teachers and students in terms of learning/teaching performance, motivation and attitudes. There have been a good number of research studies on the use of Mobile Assisted Language Learning (MALL) or Mobile Learning (ML) in EFL or ESL classroom but not much literature is known about the mobile-based language assessment, especially mobile-based formative assessment (MBFA). Hence, this study attempts to shed light on MBFA and review the recent literature available on it and its effective utilization in developing ESL/EFL speaking skill. This paper uses a qualitative research method that exclusively uses the relevant secondary references/works available on the topic. The literature revealed that MBFA practices in ESL/EFL speaking classes are effective to a certain extent and some tools and procedures seem to be more effective than others depending on the design principles and strategies used by teachers or app developers.

Abstract:
The problem and challenge of learning mathematics in West Lombok in particular and Indonesia in general is the low ability of students' mathematical literacy. The findings of researchers in the field are that students' understanding of mathematics is a standard procedure for solving routine problems. Students have difficulty solving problems in the form of mathematical applications in everyday life. Therefore, efforts are needed to improve students' abilities in the process of constructing, simplifying, and compiling mathematical models, as well as their use in solving everyday problems. One thing that can be done is to simplify the mathematical concept into a series of activities in accordance with the sequence of students' knowledge development by using environmental media as a learning medium. Such a learning concept is scientific learning based on local wisdom. The purpose of this research is to produce scientific learning tools based on local wisdom that can improve the mathematics literacy skills of SMP / MTs students in West Lombok Regency. This type of research is Development Research. This research procedure carried out by referring to the 4-D Model, namely the Define stage, the Design stage, the Develop stage, and the Disseminate stage. The results of the validation show that local wisdom-based scientific learning tools are in the very valid category. The test results show that local wisdom-based scientific learning tools are very effective in improving the mathematics literacy skills of SMP / MTs students in West Lombok.

Abstract:
Learning a language is not only about grammar and vocabulary but also about culture. Understanding culture allows language learners to give the right meaning to each word learned. English has a different culture from Indonesian. This study described the students' problems in using the second - person pronoun "you" in English, by looking at the term of social and cultural variables that are given in written form test. It involved the 40 students in ninth grade of SMP Sriwedari Malang, 80 students of SMA 3 Surabaya and 80 students of SMA 17 Surabaya. To examine the appropriateness of using second - person pronoun “you” the following steps were taken; analyzing the pronominals used by the samples, tabulating the pronominals used and the addressee interactions and the last step was calculating the percentage of pronominals used. The obtaining answer from the test explained that students’ answers were various. There were “you” as kinship term and others form were found to take the place of “you”. Kinship terms are “grandfather”, “aunt”, “uncle”, “mother”, “brother” and “father”. Other forms include “he”, “Herlina” (name), “Herman and “Levina” (names). It was found that 25.3% students used the correct form “you”, 69.05% students used kinship terms and 5.65% students used other forms. The analysis showed that there are some errors made by Javanese students in using the second - person pronoun “you” in English. It indicated that they still have culture interference in using second - person pronoun “you” in English.

Abstract:
A mathematical statement is not a theorem until it has been carefully derived from previously proven axioms, definitions and theorems. The proof of a theorem is a logical argument that is given deductively and is often interpreted as a justification for statements as well as a fundamental part of the mathematical thinking process. Studying the proof can help decide if and why our answers are logical, develop the habit of arguing, and make investigating an integral part of any problem solving. However, not a few students have difficulty learning it. So it is necessary to explore the student's thought process in proving a statement through questions, answer sheets, and interviews. The ability to prove is explored through 4 (four) proof schemes, namely Scheme of Complete Proof, Scheme of Incomplete Proof, Scheme of unrelated proof, and Scheme of Proof is immature. The results obtained indicate that the ability to prove is influenced by understanding and the ability to see that new theorems are built on previous definitions, properties and theorems; and how to present proof and how students engage with proof. Suggestions in this research are to change the way proof is presented, and to change the way students are involved in proof; improve understanding through routine proving new mathematical statements; and developing course designs that can turn proving activities into routine activities.
