Abstract:
This study makes a first attempt to investigate the influence of
leadership
communication on internal integration when employees maintain relationships with multiple managers in different functional areas of an organization. In a cross-sectional survey, 388 employees in German theatres assessed perceived internal integration between artistic, technical and administration areas as well as perceived
leadership
communication quality (PLCQ) with managers in each area which they had a relation with. Results show that the better and the more consistent employees perceive the communication of managers from the different areas, the more employees will perceive internal integration across the areas.

Abstract:
The main purpose of this research was to investigate the verbal characteristics of the philologists as school
leaders
in secondary educational institutions and to evaluate their effectiveness in verbal communication with teachers. The investigation of the verbal behaviour of philologist principals is considered particularly important as, according to a recent demographic study, scholars rank first in the number of serving principals in secondary educational institutions in Greece. A qualitative methodology with semi-structured interviews and a combination of mixed purposeful sampling strategies were used to achieve the research goal. A total of 45 participants were selected from educational institutions of Athens Secondary Education: 15 principals who are philologists, 15 vice-principals and 15 teachers who are mathematicians. Parallel to that, the strategy of data triangulation from three perspectives: the philologist

's, the vice-principal's and one mathematician's from the same school institution has been applied. A key factor in effective verbal communication was the principal's personality with their ethical-spiritual characteristics, not their scientific expertise. This research seeks to identify the most efficient way of communication between teachers and principals for the optimisation of the school's means and processes, taking into consideration the difficulties deriving from the teachers' different scientific backgrounds.

failed to investigate the active role that the characteristics of ethical climate and organisational justice have an increasing or decreasing influence on the ethical

in the organisation's outcomes of employees' ethical behaviour. Thus, this study examined the dual-mediations of work ethical climate and organisational justice on the relation of ethical
leadership
and ethical behaviour of employees. A total of 620 full-time employees from five Iraqi provinces working at 33 Iraqi organisations in the field of manufacturing, retailing, medical, insurance, information technology, legal, finance, and telecommunication responded to the questionnaire survey. Structural equation modelling (SEM) was used to test the model and data analysis was carried out using structural equation modelling-partial least square (SEM-PLS). The results revealed that there is a significant relationship between ethical

Abstract:
In numerous markets, companies from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are among the global market
leaders
and are therefore arguably 'punching well above their weight'. This research aims to uncover some of the key factors that explain the success of UAE multinational companies. The study adopted an inductive, exploratory qualitative research methodology involving interviews with elite informants who held positions at, or near, the top of their organisational hierarchies. An iterative process of thematic analysis led to the conclusion that UAE firms tend to possess a can-do culture. Although some firms have previously been described as having a can-do culture, researchers have not attempted to identify the underlying components of this culture. We conceptualise a can-do culture as a bundle of firm attributes that together generate firm competitive advantages. The five dimensions of a can-do culture are transformational

development, this study examined the lived experience of 10 nationally recognised STEM teacher

: Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching awardees and/or alumni of the Albert Einstein Distinguished Educator Fellowship Program. Participants provided detailed accounts, identifying and scrutinising key experiences in their teaching career that led them to national recognition as an STEM master teacher

Five themes emerged from the interpretive phenomenological analysis: the importance of school culture and STEM community, access to professional networks/opportunities, motivation, luck, and reinforcing beliefs. These themes, aligned with international exemplars of teacher professional development pathways, suggest areas of improvement for STEM master teacher

Abstract:
Editorial on the Research Topic Semantic Algorithms in the Assessment of Attitudes and Personality The methodological tools available for psychological and organizational assessment are rapidly advancing through natural language processing (NLP). Computerized analyses of texts are increasingly available as extensions of traditional psychometric approaches. The present Research Topic is recognizing the contributions but also the challenges in publishing such inter-disciplinary research. We therefore sought to provide an open-access avenue for cutting-edge research to introduce and illustrate the various applications of semantics in the assessment of attitudes and personality. The result is a collection of empirical contributions spanning from assessment of psychological states through methodological biases to construct identity detection. To understand previous research leading up to this issue, one important starting point was the application of machine learning to the assessment of attitudes measured by Larsen et al. (2008). Observing how the output from semantic algorithms could identify high correlations among items, Larsen et al. (2008, p. 3) introduced a mechanism to check for language-driven survey results: “Manifest validity is expected to support researchers during the data analysis stage in that researchers can compare measures of manifest validity (evaluating the extent of semantic difference between different scales) to item correlations computed from actual responses. In cases where there is little difference between distances proposed by correlation coefficients, the respondents are more likely to have employed shallow processing during questionnaire analysis.” Since then, researchers have expanded the use of semantic similarity of scale items to explore survey responses in a number of ways. Studies have shown that semantics may predict survey responses in organizational behavior (Arnulf et al., 2014, 2018c),
leadership
(Arnulf and Larsen, 2015, Arnulf et al., 2018b,d), employee engagement (Nimon et al., 2016), technology acceptance (Gefen and Larsen, 2017), and intrinsic motivation (Arnulf et al., 2018a). In a parallel line of previous research, semantic analysis has been used to complement and extend data from traditional rating scales (e.g., Nicodemus et al., 2014; Bååth et al., 2019; Garcia et al., 2020, Kjell et al., 2019). Since semantic analysis can detect overlap among items and rating scales, they can be used to map relationships and overlap between existing or new scales (e.g., Rosenbusch et al., 2020) and even to detect construct identities and ameliorate the jingle/jangle problem in theory building (e.g., Larsen and Bong, 2016). While the salient points of several of the articles presented in this Research Topic were semantically similar to prior literature, several others were more diverse (see Figure 1). Prior encompasses the literature reviewed in the editorial not including the articles contributing to the Research Topic. Darkness of lines represents the magnitude of the cosines resulting from conducting LSA on the abstracts in the Research Topic and prior literature. Arnulf and Larsen and Arnulf et al. are arguably most similar to the body of literature previously reviewed. In both articles, LSA of survey items predicted survey responses to varying degrees. Arnulf and Larsen's research questioned the capability of traditional survey responses to detect cultural differences. Observed differences in the semantically driven patterns of survey responses from eleven different ethnic samples appeared to be caused by different translations and understanding rather than cultural dependencies. Arnulf et al. similarly found that different score levels in prevalent motivation measures among 18 job types could be explained by differences in semantic patterns between the job types. Gefen et al. conducted LSA on items sets associated with trust and distrust and found that the resulting distance matrix of the items yielded a covariance-based structural equation model that was consistent with theory. Kjell O. et al. found that open-ended, computational language assessments of well-being were distinctly related to a theoretically relevant behavioral outcome, whereas data from standard, close-ended numerical rating scales were not. In a similar manner, Kjell K. et al. found that freely generated word responses analyzed with artificial intelligence significantly correlated with individual items connected to the DSM 5 diagnostic criteria of depression and anxiety. Chen et al. manually annotated Facebook posts to assess social media affect and found that extraverted participants tended to post positive content continuously, more agreeable participants tended to avoid posting negative content, and participants with stronger depression symptoms posted more non-original content. Garcia et al. applied LSA to Reuter news and Facebook status updates. In the case of the Reuter corpus, the past was devaluated relative to both the present and the future and in the case of the Facebook corpus, the past and present were devaluated against the future. Based on those findings, the authors concluded that people strive to communicate the promotion of a bright future and the prevention of a dark future. Fredén and Sikstrom applied LSA to voter descriptions of
leaders
and parties and found that descriptions of
leaders
predicted vote choice to a similar extent as descriptions of parties. Nimon provided a dataset of documents from Taking the Measure of Work and demonstrated how it could be used to build a LSA space. As the NLP field continues to develop and mature and the opportunity to automatically transform open-ended data to quantifiable measures, one wonders to what degree the use of rating scales will be warranted in the future. Abstract:
Higher education institutions and most contemporary organizations face behavioral issues often related to the

. Ethical
leadership
is one of those methods that helps to improve the workers’ behaviors within the workplace (Brown, Treviño, & Harrison, 2005; Kia, Halvorsen, & Bartram, 2019; Qian & Jian, 2020). This study aims to test ethical
leadership’s
(EL) impact on in-role work behaviors (IWBs) and to test the moderating role of organizational cynicism (OC) between them. The authors conducted this study using a stratified random sample consisting of 400 faculty members working in Egypt’s Sohag University. For this analysis, we used simple regression, hierarchical regression moderated analysis (HRMA) and simple slope analysis. Our paper findings reveal that EL had a positive effect on IWBs and that OC modified the positive correlation between them. This meant that the relationship was stronger for workers, who perceived a low level of cynicism, and was weaker for workers who perceived a high level of cynicism. These findings resulted in our conclusions about the respective relationships between EL, IWBs and OC concerning ethical

Abstract:
This paper reviews the results of 63 empirical studies and reviews of research in order to identify those school
leadership
practices and dispositions likely to help improve equitable school conditions and outcomes for diverse and traditionally underserved students. Guided by a well-developed framework of successful school
leadership
, results indicate that most of the practices and dispositions in the framework can be enacted in ways that contribute to more equitable conditions and outcomes for students. A handful of these practices and dispositions appear to make an especially significant contribution to the development of more equitable schools as well as several additional practices and dispositions associated with equitable
leadership
merit mastery by equitably-oriented
leaders
. Among the especially significant practices are building productive partnerships among parents, schools, and the larger community as well as encouraging teachers to engage in forms of instruction with all students that are both ambitious and culturally responsive.
Leaders
are likely to be more effective when they adopt a critical perspective on the policies, practices, and procedures in their schools and develop a deep understanding of the cultures, norms, values, and expectations of the students’ families. The paper concludes with implications for practice and future research.

Abstract:
This research examines the influence of transformational
leadership
on role ambiguity and work–life balance of university employees in the Philippines during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study also analyzes the moderating effect of employee involvement on the link between transformational
leadership
and role ambiguity. Online survey data were collected from employees at three public universities in the Philippines (n = 522). The data were analyzed using Partial Least-Squares Structural Equation Modeling. The results confirm the effect of transformational
leadership
on lowering role ambiguity and promoting the work–life balance of Filipino employees during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the moderating effect analysis shows that employee involvement appears to increase role ambiguity and weaken the effect of transformational
leadership
on role ambiguity. The results imply that, for employees characterized by high-power distance culture like the Filipinos, the practice of employee involvement in conjunction with transformational
leadership
appears to weaken the effectiveness of the
leaders
in lessening role ambiguity of the Filipino employees. The study also implies that
leaders
who possess transformational
leadership
characteristics may need to be aware of some management practices that are not in alignment with the cultural characteristics of their employees.

and online social networks has received limited attention. This article investigates the informal sets of networks in both social media and face-to-face spaces in which elementary principals engage in the access, use, and diffusion of information. We undertook an exploratory case study in an urban midsize public school district in the United States and collected online and face-to-face network data from a districtwide

Our results shed some light on the underlying information exchange patterns and identify commonalities and differences that are useful to consider for practitioners and policy makers who would like to foster the (informal) professional development of educators, and particularly elementary principals, who often do not have access to more formalized forms of professional development or just-in-time access to resources.

The article deals with leading role of managers in improving the efficiency and effectiveness of management in all spheres of social life. At the same time, the relevance is dictated by the need, in this regard, to study more deeply the factors of the formation and development of managerial potential, and, consequently, increase the efficiency of managerial activity and the success of a managerial career. The material for the analysis was the data obtained at the Faculty of Evaluation and Development of Managerial Human Resources of the Graduate School of Public Administration of Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration in the course of personal and professional diagnostics of managers of different government levels working in the state and non-state spheres. The questionnaire “Assessment of management potential”, developed at the Faculty, as well as the method for assessing the cognitive characteristics of management personnel were used by us as diagnostic tools. It was found that cognitive characteristics make the greatest contribution to the formation of managerial potential among managers at the initial level of management, having a decisive influence on meta-competence, ensuring the performance of

functions and continuous self-improvement of the manager. At the same time, it was shown that the managers of the highest group have the influence of cognitive characteristics on managerial analytical potential, an increase in the ability for self-development and expert competence, an increase in the ability to compare, the ability to quality, and the total indicator for the identified cognitive characteristics. Having experienced the turbulent change in corporate value rankings over the past 20 years, companies are paying attention to their reorganization to quickly recognize changes and proactively adapt to these changes for survival. This study examines the relationships and intervening ambidexterity mechanisms between CEOs’
leadership
style and employees’ learning agility. Using multilevel regression, we analyze hypotheses on a sample of 102 participating CEOs and 236 employees. Results reveal that the ambidextrous organization, which pursues the current organizational development while constantly adapting to changing environments, plays a role as a partial mediator between transformational
leadership
and members’ learning agility. These results explain that to increase the organization’s agility, a systematic organizational structure system that stimulates members’ motives and simultaneously pursues utilization and exploration must be established through clear goals and appropriate stimuli even in an uncertain environment. Our finding contributes to an understanding of how the CEO’s

style affects employees’ learning agility in ventures and to what extent the contextual ambidextrous structure influences the relationship.

Team cohesiveness plays a crucial role in effective teamwork, innovation, and improved performance, and as such, its development among team members is an essential part of team management. However, it may be disregarded by
leaders
with a high bottom-line mentality (BLM; a single-minded focus on the bottom line at the expense of other values or priorities). These
leaders
may show little interest in other priorities, such as ethical, social, or environmental considerations, and may be tempted to push their followers to go above and beyond what is expected, even if it means bending the rules, cutting corners, or engaging in other ethically problematic behaviors. We argue that although a team
leader’s
BLM may motivate followers to come together around the pursuit of a common goal, it may come at the expense of nurturing healthy interpersonal relationships, trust, and other important social resources within the team. Specifically, we argue that the way
leaders
with a high BLM approach their goals may affect team cohesiveness, and that it is particularly negative for female
leaders
. Using a large multi-national study, we found that this happens through increased directive and lowered participative

behaviors.

effectiveness. The heat and power plants industry was chosen as the subject of our research. The fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis (fs/QCA) was used as the research method. It enabled us not only to analyse particular variables, competences, and typical statistical relations between them, but we also revealed the patterns of causal relationships between particular variables. The key finding of our research was the juxtaposition of
leadership
competencies that are indispensable for 4.0
leaders
in the CHP plants. We also found out that managerial competencies were not sufficient, and they should be supported by intellectual or socio-emotional ones.

Abstract:
This study developed and tested a multilevel, moderated mediation model of whether, how, and when authentic
leadership
can affect employee work engagement in a hotel context, building on social exchange theory. A two-wave data collection process gathered 440 valid responses of hotel frontline employees from five-star hotels in China. The result supported a positive influence of authentic
leadership
on work engagement and the mediating role of
leader–member
exchange (LMX). Hotel employees’ perceived power distance orientation moderated the indirect relationship between authentic
leadership
and work engagement through LMX. In contrast to previous studies supporting the negative effect of power distance on employee behavior, the present findings suggest that power distance strengthens the relationship between authentic
leadership
and hotel employees’ work engagement. This study contributes to authentic
leadership
literature and provides insights into how interactions between personal and contextual factors affect authentic

influence on work engagement in hospitality organizations.

The Zionist-Israeli Right and the Kibbutz Movement have shared a longstanding and powerful historical rivalry, but their interrelationships were more complex than presented in historiography and recollected in public consciousness. This article seeks to systematically lay out, for the first time, the interfaces between Menachem Begin, the parties under his
leadership
and the kibbutzim. The discussion will focus on two periods: the first, which has received almost no attention in historiography – the late 1960s and early 1970s – a phase characterized by rapprochement and reconciliation between the
leader
of the Israeli right-wing party and the Kibbutz Movement. The second, the stage following the political ‘upheaval’ (1977) is better-known but has not yet been thoroughly researched. This period is characterized by an escalation in the relationship between the Likud, Prime Minister Menachem Begin and the Kibbutz Movement. The article examines the contribution of both sides to this escalation, as well as the various economic, social, and political contexts within which it was manifested and its place in Israel’s political history at large.

Abstract:
At a time when the US federal government failed to act on climate change, California's success as a subnational climate policy
leader
has been widely celebrated. However, California's landmark climate law drove a wedge between two segments of the state's environmental community. On one side was a coalition of “market-oriented” environmental social movement organizations (SMOs), who allied with private corporations to advance market-friendly climate policy. On the other side was a coalition of “justice-oriented” environmental SMOs, who viewed capitalist markets as the problem and sought climate policy that would mitigate the uneven distribution of environmental harms within the state. The social movement literature is not well equipped to understand this case, in which coalitional politics helped one environmental social movement succeed in its policy objectives at the expense of another. In this chapter, we draw on legislative and regulatory texts, archival material, and interviews with relevant political actors to compare the policymaking influence of each of these coalitions, and we argue that the composition of the two coalitions is the key to understanding why one was more successful than the other. At the same time, we point out the justice-oriented coalition's growing power, as market-oriented SMOs seek to preserve their legitimacy.

Abstract:
With the advent of microservice-based software architectures, an increasing number of modern cloud environments and enterprises use operating system level virtualization, which is often referred to as container infrastructures. Docker Swarm is one of the most popular container orchestration infrastructures, providing high availability and fault tolerance. Occasionally, discovered container escape vulnerabilities allow adversaries to execute code on the host operating system and operate within the cloud infrastructure. We show that Docker Swarm is currently not secured against misbehaving manager nodes. This allows a high impact, high probability privilege escalation attack, which we refer to as
leadership
hijacking, the possibility of which is neglected by the current cloud security literature. Cloud lateral movement and defense evasion payloads allow an adversary to leverage the Docker Swarm functionality to control each and every host in the underlying cluster. We demonstrate an end-to-end attack, in which an adversary with access to an application running on the cluster achieves full control of the cluster. To reduce the probability of a successful high impact attack, container orchestration infrastructures must reduce the trust level of participating nodes and, in particular, incorporate adversary immune

Abstract:
This dissertation focuses on a small but growing group of Marxist Muslim youth activists on the Indonesian island of Java and explores the relationship between Islam and Marxism in their activism. The activists are part of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU; The Awakening of Religious Scholars), a traditionalist Sufi organisation, which was established in 1926 in light of the growing influence of Islamic Modernism and is particularly strong in rural Java. In the first half of the 20th century, NU was pitted against the Communist Party in a conflict over agrarian reform. After an alleged coup attempt in 1965, the Communist Party was banned, and alleged communists were persecuted and killed. Marxism remains largely discredited despite a resurgence among youth activists from the 1990s onwards. Since the 1990s, political Islam, has grown to increasing influence, while at the same time, debates around Islamic ethics have largely emphasised piety and private morality. NU is commonly regarded as a ‘moderate’ Islamic force, emphasising pluralism and tolerance. In this context, I examine an activist project that aims to establish a distinct form of Islamic political ethics. My thesis therefore examines an unlikely alliance between different value spheres. It focuses on FNKSDA (Front of NU members for the Sovereignty over Natural Resources), an activist movement engaged in solidarity primarily with peasants, but also fisherfolk and urban dwellers, who are faced with agrarian conflicts over natural resources with the state and corporations, for instance over the construction of a new international airport or a gold mine. Making use of NU’s influence in the countryside, they regard it as the organisation’s responsibility to support justice for their peasant members and work to convince religious authorities to stand up for them instead of siding with corporations, thereby exercising moral critique. My interlocutors were brought up in neo-traditionalist Islamic families within NU and turned to socialist thought at university. In my thesis, I examine what motivates them to mobilise theological justifications for political ends rather than becoming involved in existing Islamic social or secular leftist political activism. I show that their religious interpretation iii radically critiques modernist approaches that tend to emphasise individual piety and otherworldly salvation and that solidarity with the kaum Mustadl’afin – the downtrodden – is a central value to them. Developing a “materialist theology”, I argue, forms the basis of how activist
leaders
bring Islam and Marxism together through intellectual work and ethical reflection. However, as I show, in the process notions of hierarchy and religious exemplary
leadership
are reinforced despite an explicit commitment to equality because this work requires in-depth knowledge both in theological and philosophical matters, elevating a few knowledgeable individuals. Their exegesis guides the activism of FNKSDA and informs the practical work the group is doing. Beyond making strategic use of their authority as aspiring religious
leaders
, activists regard it as their ethical responsibility to make their religious tradition more progressive by endowing traditional religious practices with new meanings, even if this project entails tensions. At the same time, they maintain a broadly secular conception of politics and speak out against the increasing involvement of Islamism in Indonesian politics. Throughout the thesis, I focus on their reflexive ethical effort in bringing together Islam and Marxism, illuminating how they approach ethical challenges. The thesis argues that activists do not simply make strategic use of their religious authority to spread their political ideology but are motivated by religious belief and regard it as their ethical responsibility to critique their traditionalist Islamic organisation instead of giving up on it. Beyond reformism, their project aims at the development of a new version of progressive Islam. Furthermore, they apply religious practices such as prayers in their activist struggle alongside elements of the leftist activist repertoire. Acknowledging that there are no easy solutions for ethical dilemmas between these value spheres, activists nonetheless hold on to their ethical-political project. In light of this, I examine their moral lives as they seek to navigate reflexively between conflicting value spheres.

The prevailing pandemic (COVID-19) has increased socioeconomic problems and caused psychological distress due to work uncertainty, specifically in emerging economies. Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in emerging economies have been severely affected. Particularly, work uncertainty is becoming a hindrance towards proactive work behaviour (PWB) that can be improved by an effective entrepreneurial
leadership
role and proactive personality attribute. Based on fortifying self-determination theory, this research answered the question to what extent proactive personality moderates the relationship between work uncertainty and PWB and strengthens the relationship between entrepreneurial
leadership
and PWB. To empirically examine the study’s underlying theoretical framework, respondents were selected from SMEs working in Pakistan from the high-tech industry. Multisource data were accumulated from 420 workers and their
leaders
utilizing a two-wave, time-lagged research design. Conclusions revealed that entrepreneurial
leadership
first reduced individuals’ work uncertainty, which in turn, led to enhanced proactive work behaviour of employees. Furthermore, the results revealed that work uncertainty mediates the relationship between entrepreneurial
leadership
and proactive work behaviour. Moreover, proactive personality moderates the link concerning work uncertainty and proactive work behaviour, such that this association is significant only when proactive personality is low. Additionally, the moderated mediation analysis indicated that less proactive people, compared with their extraordinarily proactive colleagues, trusted entrepreneurial
leadership
to be more proactive in the workplace. These findings have important implications to induce PWB among employees.

Abstract:
Purpose The purpose of this study is to examine the performance consequences of misalignment among business strategy, organizational configurations and management accounting systems (MAS). Design/methodology/approach The authors conducted a questionnaire survey to collect data and test the hypotheses developed in this study. The authors sent the questionnaires to the accounting and finance managers of the manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The authors received 259 responses from a total of 579 questionnaires sent or a 44.73% response rate. This study excludes 36 responses for further analyzes due to incomplete responses (five responses) and responses from lower-level employees (31 responses). The remaining 223 responses are used for statistical analyzes. Findings This study hypothesizes and finds that misalignments among business strategy,
leadership
style, organizational culture and MAS are negatively associated with both financial and non-financial performance. Research limitations/implications The study has three limitations. First, the authors intentionally collect data from the manufacturing industry to minimize the effect of data heterogeneity. To improve the generalizability of the study, future research might consider using data from other industries. Second, the study measures business strategy based on respondents’ perception of their companies’ strategy using indicators representing either product differentiation or cost
leadership
strategy. Future studies might use different ways of measuring business strategy using more objective empirical proxies such as research and development expenditures or premium price capability. Finally, this study conducts a survey and measures all the variables in a single period. Future studies might use a longitudinal approach to investigate the evolution of companies’ strategies and their impact on

styles, organizational commitment and MAS. Practical implications The results of the study will help companies in their search for senior executives, in building their organizational culture and in implementing their MAS. The study suggests that product differentiation companies should search for transformational

In regard to MAS, the results suggest that product differentiation companies should implement broad focus MAS that emphasize the balance between financial and non-financial factors. By contrast, cost

process. To fill this important research void, we drew from a recent theoretical model on

sexual orientation and conducted four experimental studies designed to test and retest whether
leaders’
same-sex sexual orientation affects followers’
leadership
perceptions and conformity to influence attempts, and how the intersectionality of
leaders’
same-sex sexual orientation with
leaders’
gender orientation and follower characteristics may modify the influences of
leaders’
same-sex sexual orientation on the follower outcomes. Based on over 2,100 working adults in the U.S., the results of the four studies, where
leaders
were depicted as charismatic, indicate that
leaders’
same-sex sexual orientation could have negative impacts on the follower outcomes. However, same-sex sexual orientation
leaders
did not suffer double stigma penalization by having additional marginalized identities (e.g., also being women). Female followers were more supportive of same-sex sexual orientation
leaders
than male followers. Our research advances knowledge of and responds to calls for more research attention to
leader
sexual orientation in the
leadership

In this manuscript, we evaluate the impact, if any, of participation in the CwPAMS scheme and the CPhOGH Fellowship, particularly in relation to
leadership
skills, and consider if there are demonstrable benefits for the NHS. The 16 CPhOGH Fellows were invited to complete anonymised baseline and post-Fellowship self-assessment. This considered the impact of the Fellowship on personal, professional and
leadership
development. Senior colleagues were invited to provide insights into how the Fellows had performed over the course of the Fellowship. All Fellows responded to both the pre- and post-Fellowship questionnaires with a return of 100% (16/16) response rate. There was a significant improvement in Fellows’ perception of their confidence, teaching abilities, understanding of behaviour change, management and communication skills. However, there was no change in the Fellows’ attitude to work. Feedback was received from 26 senior colleagues for 14 of the CPhOGH Fellows. Overall, senior colleagues considered CPhOGH Fellows to progress from proficient/established competencies to strong/excellent when using the national pharmacy Peer Assessment Tool and NHS Healthcare
Leadership
Model. The majority (88%) of senior colleagues would recommend the Fellowship to other pharmacists. The analysis of the data provided suggests that this CPhOGH Fellowship led to the upskilling of more confident, motivated pharmacist
leaders
with a passion for global health. This supports the NHS’s long-term plan “to strengthen and support good compassionate and diverse
leadership
at all levels”. Constructive feedback was received for improvements to the Fellowship. Job satisfaction and motivation improved, with seven CPhOGH Fellows reporting a change in job role and five receiving a promotion.

Abstract:
The relationship between healthcare organizational accreditation and their
leaders’
professional certification in healthcare management is of specific interest to institutions of higher education and individuals in the healthcare management field. Since academic program accreditation is one piece of evidence of high-quality education, and since professional certification is an attestation to the knowledge, skills, and abilities of those who are certified, we expect alumni who graduated from accredited programs and obtained professional certification to have a positive impact on the organizations that they lead, compared with alumni who did not graduate from accredited programs and who did not obtain professional certification. The authors’ analysis examined the impact of hiring graduates from higher education programs that held external accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME). Graduates’ affiliation with the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) professional healthcare
leadership
organization was also assessed as an independent variable. Study outcomes focused on these graduates’ respective healthcare organization’s performance measures (cost, quality, and access) to assess the researchers’ inquiry into the perceived value of a CAHME-accredited graduate degree in healthcare administration and a professional ACHE affiliation. The results from this study found no effect of CAHME accreditation or ACHE affiliation on healthcare organization performance outcomes. It proposes a systemic approach, a worldview that places the organization and the people related to it as an integral part of nature, and an R&D system based on continuous learning from nature. model that considers nature as a model, measure and mentor. To this end, we proposed, firstly, a definition of a biomimetic

from the point of view of the characteristics of biomimetic organizations. Then, we determined the characteristics of this

type. Secondly, we conducted a review of the main

styles analyzed in the recent literature about management; then, for each

type, we extracted the characteristics that will adapt to the biomimetic

-IWB link in data gathered from CEOs, middle managers and non-managerial employees of 444 small and medium enterprises in Morocco. Findings The findings revealed that empowering

is a prerequisite of IWB as subordinates, who are empowered by their

and demonstrate IWB. Further, organizational climate for initiative and job autonomy mediate the empowering

-IWB link. Practical implications This research has demonstrated that firms and organizational

who seek to make their middle managers innovative in their job should adopt empowering

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to explore the salient factors in adoption of innovations in university libraries of Pakistan. The topic is important because academic libraries need to be innovative for meeting the new vision/mission of higher education. A previous study conducted by the same researchers concluded an inappreciable state of a large majority of university libraries in Pakistan (Awais and Ameen, 2018). It is, therefore, necessary to examine and investigate the ground realities and important factors influencing in the local context. World War II had a significant impact on the trajectory of postrevolutionary Mexican development. Pressure from the United States for collaboration in defense efforts and the ambivalence of the Mexican public toward an active role in the conflict posed challenges. Yet the crisis atmosphere created by the war allowed the country’s
leaders
to insist upon a policy of national unity. The Ávila Camacho administration was thus able to maintain a broad political coalition as it took Mexico formally into the war on the side of the Allies in 1942 and then gradually expanded the scope of the country’s participation in the conflict. Wartime conditions prompted Mexico to expand its capacities and make new demands on citizens; they served as well to accelerate the professionalization and depoliticization of the armed forces. In economic terms, the war disrupted trade with Europe but spurred US demand for the strategic outputs of Mexican mines and farms and Mexican labor. in England work in a culture described as high accountability combined with high autonomy. Principals, who have the ability to set and shape their own organisational culture and who hold responsibility for standards and continual improvement, are seen as occupying an influential position within their school community. Like all who work in the public sector in England, they are expected to adhere to ethical standards However the embedded marketization approach to education in England has led to practices which are ethically troubling. These have been well publicised and include ‘gaming’ of the examination system in order to boost results; high levels of exclusions for pupils from vulnerable groups and non-inclusive practices of pupils with Special Educational Needs.
