Abstract
Cholelithiasis is a common disease in the general population. One of its risk factors is the type 2 diabetes mellitus, related to metabolic abnormalities associated to overweight, obesity, insulin resistance, hypertriglyceridemia and dietary habits. The main risk factors to cholelithiasis are genetic susceptibility, ileum resection, diabetes mellitus, obesity, hemolytic anemia, age, estrogens and cirrhosis. This study aims to make a correlation between diabetes mellitus and obesity versus prevalence of cholelithiasis in these patients. Keywords
