Pratiques familiales de l’informatique versus pratiques scolaires Représentations de l’informatique chez les élèves d’une classe de CM2

Abstract
Which representations of informatics children have at the end of elementary school ? What are the computer uses they have at home ? Which interactions can be observed between private uses and school uses ? These questions were used as a basis for a qualitative study whose principal working hypothesis was that children’s relations with home computers are likely to influence their expectations toward school. This article presents some answers to these questions : if the know-how acquired at home can sometimes compete with competences likely to be acquired at school, their scope is limited and they seem to be insufficient to certify some use skills of informatics, in particular for lack of directed conceptualisation.
