Abstract
This paper presents a modeling approach in a co-simulation environment using MATLAB, Simulink, Simscape, Stateflow, SolidWorks and Multibody Dynamics. The electric vehicle under consideration is a three-wheeled utility vehicle with a pre-identified drive cycle. The modeling of the transmission, its shift mechanism consisting of the actuator stepper motor with position control is presented along with underlying assumptions. Application of mathematical as well as physical modeling is utilized for better system representation. A CAD model of a two-speed gearbox is integrated from the SolidWorks environment. Using the Simulink Multiphysics library, the physical and Simulink signals are interfaced with the transmission CAD model. The model is validated with empirical data. This publication has 12 references indexed in Scilit:
