Evaluation of Holstein and Simental farms in Burdur under the IPARD program in terms of profitability

Abstract
In this study, In Burdur, two Holstein and two Simmental dairy cattle farms with IPARD (Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance-Rural Development) support were evaluated in terms of profitability. In this context, the economic data records of the farms with 114 Holstein and 160 Simmental cows for 2019 constituted the material of the research. In the study, it was determined that the feed expenses (%63.07) took the first place in the proportional distribution of the cost elements that constitute the cost in the farms. The first line of income items of dairy cattle farms is milk income (%70.26). Within the scope of the research, financial profitability is %14.58; economic profitability %0.10; rantability factor %24.42; expense/revenue ratio %1.11; the cost of 1 kg milk was determined as 1.63 TL (0.29 $).
