The problems of recognition, usual / occasional use, and the functioning of connotonyms are prioritized in modern onomastics. Insufficient knowledge of the connotative sphere of onymic units, determination of the participation of interlingual – intralingual connotonyms in the formation of the national picture of the world in the Ukrainian-language public text predetermines the relevance of the study.
